Upon arriving at the hotel after a 7 hour drive with two children, I walked in to check in and the concierge was sitting in the lobby on his phone. He got me checked in, and I unloaded my kids and our things. We trekked to the third floor, and to our surprise, our room was already occupied. The occupant of the room was at least not upset at me for opening his door with my room key. I returned to the first floor with my children and belongings, and the concierge was sitting in the lobby on his phone again. When I explained that someone was already occupying the room, he took my key without so much as an apology. He got us another room and as he handed me our new key, he said "sorry about that".
Now, I'm a pretty forgiving person, and I get that mistakes happen, but seriously? You had one job.
The room was decent, and the tv actually worked this time, but it could use some TLC. Breakfast was the usual Choose Your Own Adventure with waffles, yogurt, etc.
The pool needs maintenance. The bottom and sides of the pool have some sort of brownish stain, which is disconcerting, but kids don't care... much. My daughter was scared there might be an alligator in the pool...
All in all, it's a decent hotel, but it definitely needs work.
