Got in kind of late. The front counter person was nice enough. I was given a room at the farthest spot from the front desk. I walked there with my bags in hand and when I got there the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. I walked all the way back and was given a new room, right next to the last room. I walked all the way back, with my bags to the farthest spot from the front desk. That room was not cleaned either, and it was worse, looked like someone was partying in there. I go back to the front desk and finally get a clean room. The next morning I found out that the hot water was only lukewarm. Then the toilet backed up. I have stayed in worse hotels, but I don’t think I will be back to this one.

Room was old and outdated, smelled musty, carpet was gross. I was afraid to not wear shoes. The hotel allowed dogs, but had not one garbage can around the facility to put bags in and I was not going to throw it out in my room so I left it there. The location is also dark and creepy.

The room was spacious. Staff was friendly. Strange smell in room. Hair in bathroom. All vending machines for drinks empty. Asked for a wake up call and never received. Internet did not work.

Please do not stay here. The hotel itself is dirty and the smell is terrible. There was no staff to help out either. Questionable people were hanging around outside blocking the entrance when we tried to get to our room. It’s very unfortunate, I will never stay here ever again. There is a reason why it is so cheap compared to other hotels in the area.

We went up to a room that was never cleaned from the previous guest. Then we were told the only other room was one with a king size bed. We had asked for two double beds. We were told if we did not like it we can go elsewhere. As we were standing there another guest canceled and gave us the room. We decided to stay only because all the hotels were booked for the College.

I was very unsatisfied with my stay at the Clarion Inn & Suites University Area this weekend. I understand that I booked the room late and the rates were higher than usual but $250 was way too much for the conditions in room 108: - the room smelled damp at arrival (approx. 11:30pm) - the floor towel in the bathroom was still wet - was it even replaced after the last guest? - the bathtub faucet dripped all night - the toilet refilled every 20-30 minutes - faulty seal? - the A/C was inadequate; even when I turned the temp down it never got any cooler and there was no difference between low, medium and high on the fan. - everything in the room felt damp in the morning including our clothes. I have stayed at Clarion establishments in the past and had much better experiences. This might just be a one-off but the issues should be addressed for future guests.
