Hotel ok but breakfast awful
Room was great, nice comfortable bed. Overall dated, bath needs replacing, looks unhygienic. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had. "Hot breakfast" was tepid at best. Plates were cold, bacon as hard as nails and cold, sausage and baked beans hardly warm, hash browns looked inedible (the underside had grey/black potato bits), mushrooms shrivelled and tepid, it would have been horrible to have a warm or cold egg so didnt bother. I went down at 8am, god knows what it would have been like by 10.

Arrived 2045 after long day, got the room furthest from reception and food stopped at 2100. Diesel generator or plant outside my bedroom all night. Off Tuesday almost as tired as I came.

Claton by name but do not expect Clayton standard.
Absolutely terrible. The worst Clayton hotel I've ever stayed in. Please do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel. NO HOT WATER. Elevator is so noisy and hotel walls are so thin that a nights sleep was impossible in our room. Shower was broken, which resulted in getting scalded the night we arrived when the temperature suddenly changed mid shower and the following morning we had no hot water in our room. Shower or sink. Room was cold and had a damp smell with no thermostatic controls. We were offered a 20% refund after highlighting with management. (Which we turned down) We were offered a room to shower in before leaving when manager conceded that she had no timeframe for hot water returning. If you dont like sleep, hot water, or good customer service then this hotel may be perfect for you.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, food was lovely and the complimentary cocktail for New Year's was a nice touch. The family meal deal was very good value and the ambience in the restaurant was perfect. The only issues we had were that our room was cold for mot of the evening, I called down twice and was informed that the heating would be on in a few hours but I was quite cold all evening. We were also very disappointed to find out that the swimming pool was closed, and that it would also cost an extra €15 to use when it is open. I think it would have been helpful to families to be notified when booking of the pool is closed. Apart from that we had a lovely stay, and once again all the staff we met were fantastic

Nice hotel with a good price per night.
Nice hotel, great location for access to Cork City and surrounding areas. Breakfast was nice, lots of variety and open later for a lie in. Only complaint was the bath tub that kept spitting up water and the toilet with the malfunctioning flusher. I have stayed here before and this is not usual.

Don't bother
Bar and restaurant staff were useless and uninterested in their work. Apart from the young man on the bar for our last night who was doing his best on only his second day. The food wasn't great either. A very noisy hotel so little sleep over three nights. I've given it a one star review as there's no option for zero stars. In contrast oher Clayton hotels I've stayed at over the years have been very good.
