Convenient and Budget Stay
The guesthouse is located in an 80 year old historic building that is on the side of town where locals live and shop. It's a short walk from the bus terminal, San Ignacio market, Cahal Pech, Green Iguana Conservation, and other touristic sites. Max is a great host who sent us a lot of local recommendations from sightseeing places to restaurants. He also gave us recommendations on places we can go on our own, ones we needed a guide and local events that we can attend to better understand the Belizean culture. He's very open to constructive criticism and gone through great lengths to make sure we have everything we need for our stay. In total, we stayed for 5 nights and we had a spare day. He introduced us to his friend who took us on a customized local tour to see hidden gems that only locals know about. Would highly recommend checking the place out!

The room is big. The hotel is closed to everything, including restaurant, supermarket, and transportation hub in the town. The owner and staff are very helpful. They told me how to travel to archaeology site in a fast but budget way.

This is a great place to stay and Mike, the owner, goes out of his way to accommodate you. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the San Ignacio/Sant Elena area.

The hotel manager (Mike) was welcoming, and responsive (within the limits of what could be done during our stay). The matresses were cheap, uncomfortable, and poor quality, with only a thin sheet on the bed (no blanket or bed cover). Combine that with the hotel location on the main road on a hill, and sleep was almost impossible. The windows in our room could not be shut, so road noise (trucks and motorbikes accelerating up the hill), and the dogs barking made for a long night. We checked out the next day, even though several days were paid for. Mike refunded one of those days, and I saw later he was already changing the windows out. I hope your stay will be more enjoyable than ours.

Good value for money
The hotel is centrally located just a 3 minute walk across the bridge to the centre of town. The room was spacious and the shower powerful. The room got a little warm in the afternoon but there was a fan. The hotel is pretty quiet and interestingly located in the local radio station Max Radio.
