Unique, picturesque, with excellent service.
This is a unique locale, decorated with furnishings and pictures from a bygone era. The hostess was incredibly friendly and served me a delicious breakfast when I wanted it.

Great little spot to relax.
The place is great! I'm not into hotel chains and run of the mill standard motels. This place has character, great hosts, and is in the middle of nowhere. The stars are bright, the peacocks on property are beautiful, and the sunrises and sunsets spectacular. A little further from Death Valley than Beatty, but totally worth it to stay here.

Very hospitable and friendly. As you would expect, the decor is eclectic and interesting. We shared the evening with other guests in the dining room and had a good time. Room is small and would benefit from an update.

Incredible hosts, amazing atmosphere
Hosts were so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was so fun and unlike any other place I’ve stayed. The location was quiet and away from hustle bustle. Very much enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again.

Quirky B&B with themed rooms and friendly host. However, our room was dusty and that plus the cat set off my allergies. If you have dust or pet allergies, a regular hotel/motel would be a better fit.

Shady for sure
Disgusting. We were placed in an old mobile home on the property and were greeted by a dead mouse in the kitchen and droppings on the nightstand. LOTS of droppings. It stunk. While the peacocks are cool there is bird poop everywhere. The pool looked more like a livestock tank and was disgusting. Keep driving or sleep in your car.

Hidden Gem
This is a hidden gem 30 mi north of Beatty, NV. Paul, Jennifer, and Nigel are really friendly and treat their guests like family. They serve a fresh and healthy warm breakfast every morning and help with planning your days out with great recommendations. The property has an interesting history and you can learn about it when you’re there. They have some 20 peacocks on the property, a goat, a dog, and a cat who comes by sometimes. It was such a lovely environment. We really enjoyed our stay there and will be back! 😁

Quaint b&b with great hosts
Great hosts, yummy breakfast. We stayed in peacock room which had a Jacuzzi tub. Furnishings were quaint, bathroom had dual sinks, floor tiles needed some TLC. Kids loved the outdoor areas with all the peacocks, views were amazing

A Delight
My stay at The Shady Lady was so lovely! I was only there for one night; showed up a little after four and was greeted by a flock of peacocks and a cute orange cat. I stayed in the Victorian room, and while the bed was a little noisy, it was clean and comfortable. The hosts were fabulous; I was headed to Death Valley the next day, and they were more than happy to give me some helpful pointers! Breakfast was great, and I loved getting to meet the other guests. I’ll be back!

Bucket list item: Night in a brothel
Very cool place, loved the peacocks, breakfast was excellent, operators were super nice. The only small wrinkle was that our room, the cabin I think, didn't have a TV. Had I read the booking info more carefully I might have known that ahead of time, but it really wasn't much of a problem.

Bra mottagande och service, det som framgår på Hotels.com är inte helt riktigt. Det är inget lyxigt boende. Varmvatten endast i kökskranen, kallvatten i handfatet, inget vatten i duschen. Det behöver framgå när man ska boka. Priset är rätt högt med tanke på enkelheten 1800 kr för en stuga utan dusch och varmvatten i toaletten. Frukosten var mycket bra, den bästa jag ätit i USA och mottagandet mycket bra och det är vad som ger mitt höga betyg

Übernachtung in Hippie WG im Nirgendwo
Auf die Fußmatte mit der Aufschrift’welcome’ im Eingang hatte ein Tier geschissen. Am Ende der drei Stufen im Eingang stand eine Barriere,damit keine Tiere hinein oder herauslaufen können.Sehr unpraktisch,wenn die Gäste mit Gepäck kommen. In dem asiatischen Zimmer war es so finster,dass man eine Stirnlampe gebraucht hätte und überall stand irgendwelcher Schrott herum,über den man gestolpert ist oder der von alleine runtergefallen ist (Brett im Badezimmer unterm Spiegel). Es liegt weder in Tonopah noch in Beatty. Zum Glück hatten sie eine Leuchtreklame an der Straße,sonst findet man es im Dunklen niemals. Der Parkplatz ist eine gute Teststrecke für Offroadfahrzeuge. Leise war es auch nicht,weil es hellhörig ist,irgendwelches Federvieh rumkkräht oder irgendwelche Alarme piepen. Die Betreiber sind ja lieb und nett,aber auch wenn ich mit ihnen verwandt wäre würde ich da schleunigst wieder verduften. Das Frühstück war gut. Der Preis für diese Übernachtung ist aber ein Hohn.
