JUST WOW…paid for a “king” suite with a city view. No better way to enjoy a view of the city then a finger print field pane glass window. Upon arrival it’s obvious this hotel is ancient. They took it upon themselves to update to some modern decor and that’s cool but it’s obvious they skipped on some of the more extensive renovations. Old school, metal, stalls with rust in the lobby bathroom, old rusty elevators in addition to the newer ones. The room itself is tucked off to the far end of the hallway, as I know most suites to be. As soon as I entered the room it was apparent that I would be hearing everybody above, and beside me for my stay. No microwave, really weird. One of the biggest disappointments for me which may not be a dealbreaker for most is the lack of a working detachable showerhead. I really look forward to the walk in shower experience in these types of hotels but at least the main showerhead worked so there’s that. But the piece de resistance, was the stain ridden mattress, the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in my life. A yellow-ish stain that extended across the full length of the top of the mattress, and the bottom, where the mattress meets the boxspring. I only knew this because I had to remove the fitted sheet towards the end of my stay. Obviously I was not thinking straight because I didn’t take photos. Primarily because I didn’t want to spit the mood of my friends. So I really didn’t want to harp on the bad, as these things tend to effect my mood.
