What are the highlights of Parque México in Mexico City?
One of the first things you'll notice about Parque México is its sheer size. It encompasses 22 acres, so you'll have plenty of room to move around even if some people are using areas for full soccer matches. Exploration here is rewarded with unique trees and fountains placed throughout the park.
Several buildings and archways in this park sport an art deco style of architectural design that has since become a staple of the Colonia Hipodromo. Most roads in the neighborhood tend to converge on the park, as the surrounding area was built out from it.
What else is good to know about Parque México in Mexico City?
When you visit Parque México, there are a few factors to keep in mind. Despite the name of the park, you'll find quite a few features that are not actually Mexican. This mostly comes in the form of trees, like Mediterranean palm and Lebanese cypresses. You can even see bamboo.
Visiting this park will put you close to quite a few other attractions in the area. Around the park's perimeter, you can check out several cafés and bars. Just to the north, you'll find the legendary monument to independence, a towering structure dedicated to the war against Spain.
