Great staffs all can speak Japanese very fluently. check-in time is exactly 3:00PM even you arrive hotel earlier. There are long line at that time. One thing I have little disappointed that they could not change the towels complementally, we need 1 USD to have new towels. If you think this place as hotel it's not. You can just think "Sleeping Place" with no service.

Nice location: At first I thought it was a bit too far East, but the area turned out to be interesting, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and a (rebuilt) part of the historic city wall. The hotel is, of course, at Toyoko Inn level, which I always appreciate. I'll take a bigger room next time, though.

Toyoko Inn Dongdaemun 1 is set in a great location, easy to commute to major areas and close to popular tourist attractions around Seoul such as Namsan Tower and Myeongdong. The hotel staff were so attentive and helpful and the free Korean breakfast every morning for guests was delicious and also made the stay at the hotel that much more enjoyable. Also as an extra note the Airport limousine picks up and drops off exactly Infront of the hotel which was very helpful and convenient I would definitely stay here or there other properties again! Thank you so much for such a pleasant stay :)

Staff need training, but was a great hotel.

When I checked in, the staff was welcoming, but was new and did not know how to change the room as I was given floor 1 which I did not like. The room was clean except there is used toilet paper at the corner of the bathroom ceiling not disposed. The breakfast was great and have enough amenities.

Amazing little gem. The staff was super nice and the free breakfast in the morning is absolutely delicious. The area is super convenient close to dongdaemun history and culture park station. Several buses run close including an airport limousine right in front of the hotel! The room was very clean and the cleaning staff gave new towels,garbage bags and water bottles everyday. There's also luggage storage available and there's 2 elevators so you never wait too long. I honestly loved this hotel and will definitely comeback there when I'm in Seoul the price/quality is great as well.

It’s a good place to go to for a few days. Rooms are small, as is expected in a lot of East Asian countries. You may have trouble opening your large suitcase all the way without it touching the bed. But it’s doable! Nothing smelled weird and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. It was cold outside but it was fine inside and you can adjust temperature.

If you rent a car and need to park it, you must check with the front desk. This is because parking may not be allowed due to the weight of the vehicle. Additionally, the front desk should provide courteous guidance regarding this matter. The breakfast at this hotel feels like a homemade meal my mom would make in Korea. The menu changes daily, and during our one-week stay, it seemed to follow a weekly rotation. However, every meal felt thoughtfully prepared with care. Because of this, I would love to stay at this hotel again the next time I visit except car parking

The hotel is very convenient for public transport. It's just minutes away from a metro station that has 3 lines and can help you get all over Seoul. They also handled an issue that I had very well. I stayed for two nights and when I came back to the hotel in the evening for my second night the electricity wouldn't work in my room. The reception staff came up to try and fix it and when they couldn't, they immediately moved me to a different room for my second night. I was very impressed and thankful for the quick and immediate assistance. I will definitely stay here again!

Located right at Dongdaemun History and Cultural Park station on the subway, transportation was super convenient from this hotel to various areas of the city, with three lines feeding into the station. There is even a convenient and comfortable airport bus that stops right in front of the hotel, even early morning at around 4:40am to Incheon Airport for my morning flight (thankfully so since security took at least an hour to clear even at 6:00am). Staff were very nice, able to use English and Japanese for foreigners as well (I often spoke in Japanese to them). The room was solid, and somewhat Japanese in hotel style especially with the bathroom. My biggest complaint was that the doors to the hallway let in a lot of sound. I had to use ear plugs even late in the night since I could hear the children/family across the hall who were being loud even at around 1 or 2am. Better sound proofing would be great. With earplugs I slept fine. Breakfast was included and great and in the lobby dining area. Overall, I do recommend this hotel, especially to Japanese travelers, despite some sound issues.
