When I checked in I was told no Reservation. I had confirmation from Hotels.com but that meant nothing. They agreed that I was in the right place. They basically implied that I probably made it up because they wouldn't give that rate so unless I could prove it, they wouldn't honour it. After many minutes of frustrated talking, (keeping my cool nicely) they agreed on one night at that rate but I would have to look for other accomm the next day. It seemed they had never heard of Hotels.com.
The room was the crappiest smallest room in the back corner of the hotel with a bathroom/toilet that two of us couldn't physically fit in at the same time. The carpets had never been vacuumed. The beds felt like a hard board. I had booked a higher priced upgrade to a "Deluxe Suite".
The next day at reception with a laptop logged onto Hotels.com account showing my confirmation and the room I booked, they agreed to extend for the other two nights I had originally booked at the same rate. (I should have checked out and gone somewhere else). I didn't get the upgrade or any offer of apology or compensation. In fact the attitude of all the staff was as if they didn't want to be there or bother with anything at all. While I was at the counter another guest walked up to the counter and stood there for quite a while as 3 clerks stood about trying to look busy, then huffed and finally walked away unattended. Please don't stay at this hotel, I certainly won't, they don't deserve your business.
