Our stay at Hotel Adornes was lovely. The hotel offers all the hotel amenities (except A/C which would have been nice during the heat wave we stayed in) one would expect with the added charm and care a family-run B&B provides (including free pastries and croissants in the lobby and a basement “honesty bar” where you can partake of wine and beer at your leisure as long as you write down that you took it). The location is lovely along the canal but it is oddly very noisy late into the night, which was unexpected. The combination of a hot room that needed windows open and loud late-night stumble-homers made for a couple of difficult sleeping nights. Breakfast was great but it’s a first-come, first-serve so we missed out on the hot food one morning because we arrived thirty minutes before breakfast was over. It’s a little bit of a walk to most restaurants and very little is open on Monday and Tuesday nights, but there is a bus right across the street that was super convenient and took us everywhere we needed to go. The staff was wonderful and despite the irritations, I would recommend staying here.
