The view of the city, lake, and snow-covered mountains was so breathtakingly beautiful, we found it hard to leave the window (with balcony!) in our room. When we did, we used the hotel's complimentary bus ticket to explore the town--one of the most lovely and special we have experienced in Europe. And the hotel staff was warm and responsive in every way. This hotel is a gem!

Ok aber leider das Geld nicht wert
Das beste war das Lächeln und die Begrüssung am Frühstücksbuffet und das Frühstück war auch OK. Lieblose Zimmereinrichtung mit Teppich und zufällig scheinenden Möbel - sauber war es, bis auf die obligaten Kalksteinspuren an der Duschtrennwand. Kein Safe, kein Kühlschrank… wir habe für zwei Nächte und zwei Personen knapp CHF 760.- plus Taxe bezahlt, was definitiv zu viel ist für den Standard. Die Lage und Aussicht sind sehr gut.

Bathrooms are beyond small. Breakfast overpriced should really be included in room price . Very basic amenities. No coffee maker in room . The view is gorgeous

The hotel room was very good, clean and adequate space with a wonderful view. Location was good though required walking up hill to access if no car. The walk from the city is very doable and pleasant on the tree lined path. Transportation voucher a big plus. The breakfast was not good. Very poor selections. No tea or coffee in the morning offered except if you got the breakfast buffet. Charge for a coffee machine in the room.

Overall we had a fine stay here. There are few things to note before booking that we wish we knew. Firstly the property is up a hill and about 7 min walk from the bus stop. In the heat it’s not the easiest walk (especially with luggage). The property is quite old, there is no air conditioning, and it seems no updates have been done since original construction. Our room was small and without basic amenities we expected for the price (no fridge, coffee/tea, safe for belongings). The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The walls are thin and you can hear everything happening in the hall and neighbouring rooms. The one upside was the staff were very nice and accommodating. Thankfully they were able to find us a fan for the room given the extreme heat. We would not be keen to stay here again but if you are low maintenance it would probably be fine for a short stay.

L'accueil est agréable, l'Hôtel un peu en hauteur est très calme, loin de la route. La chambre est propre et grande avec vue sur le lac. Grâce au pass pour les transports publics, nous avons pu prendre le bus à l'arrêt proche de l'hôtel. A recommander.

check-in July 12 - 1 night stay - Nothing Royal - just the name - despite a great location and the kindless of Director who tried his best to accommodate our stay - we re-packed and left hotel after 1 hour - I surely waisted $ 270.00 but life is too short for a bad sleep - Property is in poor condition in need of major renovation - you can hear people next door (room) coughing talking even farting - it is unfortunate for the staff who is actually doing a great job - I was told that I would be contacted by upper Management - as of today ... no news. Life goes on : ) - I hope this info is useful for anyone planning trip to Beautiful Lucerne - Best, Alain
