Another nice relaxing stay
Had another great visit. The room I had requested wasnt available but the lady at the front desk took care of me so was happy with the above and beyond level of customer service. Pools were clean and warm but the swimming pool for the last few visits has been pretty cold so do one was using it. That does tend to move the kids from the pool to the spas which is not very relaxing for the adults trying to relax. But, overall a nice trip. See you all again next month!

Be warned!
This place clearly had it's heyday many, MANY years ago. While the room was affordable for the area and the pictures make you think of an amazing spa vacation, that is NOT what you get. The pools and jacuzzis were fine, nothing fancy in my opinion but the room was TERRIBLE. When you first walk in the room smells like mold and the wooden floors are warped (likely from people walking around on them after being in the pools). Quite literally, within the first few hours of being there we found two cockroaches. The sliding door opened up onto a patio that wrapped around the entire side of the building, so no privacy whatsoever with people continually walking by in the night. The bed was hard as a rock and the shower water turned from warm to instantly cold while I was showering. My partner and I hardly wanted to touch anything in that room, let alone sleep there. I read other reviews and I don't know how our experience was so incredibly different compared to those raving about visiting for years and years. Front desk people were very nice, and its understandable that it has an outdated look to it, but the cleanliness was, unfortunately, just abhorrent. I hate leaving bad reviews, but if you have any sort of cleanliness problem, I highly recommend you stay far away.

The online pictures and reviews do not match the actual place. The overall condition was extremely run down and I did not feel safe. There was supposed to be secure parking but the gate did not lock. The pools did not look clean. I was supposed to stay for 2 nights but checked out after 1 night.

Funky mid-century modern resort. Great pools!
We stay here on our way to CA beaches near San Diego. We love the desert oasis vibe and the pools here are just wonderful. Love the food at the restaurant and the great service we receive. Bar is fanciful with a giant desert mural, multiple tvs and karaoke nights which are entertaining. Wish they had extended stay rates for snowbirds. I’d gladly spend a month here.

Great place to unwind
I've stayed at DHS Spa Hotel maybe a dozen times over the past decade. The Spa is definitely a hold-over from an earlier era, and has lots of idiosyncrasies (few wall plugs, finicky TVs and heating/AC -- but the overall ambiance is completely charming. And the hot pools are as lovely as they look in any PR pic you see of the property. It's also remarkably inexpensive compared to most lodging in the area.

My 3 majors concerns. There is not a phone in the room to call front desk. You have to go to the front desk for your questions, The staff was always outside smoking, you had to stand at the desk before someone realized you were there. I was told to plug the tub with a rag to give my 2 yr old son a bath. The stopper did not work.

Great customer service
Overall, we had a nice day. The first day was a bit miserable because our room reeked of mildew. They moved us the next day, which made all the difference. All I can say is request a room with tile floors. The first one we had had carpets, and I’m sure people just came in from the pool and let water drip all over the floor. Our second room was far better, and the vacation finally started to look up. The Customer Service at this resort is great. The staff and restaurant servers are amazing. And the food in the café is pretty good.Now for the hot springs. They have a beautiful big pool, but it’s not heated, so impossible to swim in this time of year. The smaller pools were great, but they got crowded until 8 PM. Apparently, people can purchase a day pass to visit the resort, and once those folks cleared out, there was plenty of room in the smaller pools. All in all, I would stay here again as long as we got a hotel room with tile floors.
