Le Cinque Lusso hotel's promise failed to live up to expectations, I'm afraid.
Whilst the reception is pleasing to the eye, accompanied by a grand piano, I might add; the real letdown had to be the rooms themselves. We'd based ourselves there & always came back to another room but each of the 4 rooms had seen better days.
Either the windows/ bathroom door didn'close properly or the aircon did not work to finding stained rusty bath/shower areas to the shower in the executive room running just like a tap. Even a cockroach made an appearance!
IMO, all the rooms badly needed a total refurb. Even the main lift is the old-fashioned grill/door you have to shut; otherwise, there will be no liftoff, so to speak. How many times have I run upstairs to close the grill to call the lift???
Even the hardback books on BA were printed in 2006!!! Ancient & out of date!
However, the plus points had to be the friendly & helpful staff & also the buffet breakfast which had a good & extensive offering. The juices & yoghurt drinks were top-notch. We always looked forward to breakfast!
It was just a shame, on one occasion, I had to insist on moving to another room due to a bathroon leak multiplying to several bathroom leaks. Also, early on our stay, the afternoon/evening cleaner suddenly burst into our room by mistake, surprised to find it was occupied! Finding me in my jimjams, sitting on the edge of my bed watching TV & the Mrs tucked in bed, the outcome could have been much worse, I'm sure!!!
