Room was in very poor condition it was dirty, the carpet was dirty, the sink drain was broken, the bedding smelled bad, the bathroom was dirty and the towels were used and dirty. The location was not too far from the Haram, but the room condition was really bad. I stayed at an Ibis hotel before but this Ibis was poor.

Avoid. No use at all if you encounter any issues

Hotel was shut down by the local authorities. They're now refusing to refund my booking, despite them being shut down. What stupidity. Thankfully, we are protected by regulations such as the Section 75 claim.

THEY WERE SHUT DOWN BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES

The hotel was shut shut down by the local authorities. You can imagine our shock when we reached at 1am,with a young child and elderly parents. Neither they or hotels.com bothered to inform us. We had to pay a premium to find alternative accommodation at such short notice. Don't even get me started on the stress and hassle we had to go through.

Avoid booking this hotel. The hotel has been non operational since Feb 2025 and nobody bothered to let us know. You can imagine the shock my family and I had to endure upon arrival at 2am on the 4th of March. We had to find alternative accommodation at short notice, which meant paying a premium. Expedia were useless too. There was no way of getting through to customer services.

Leider gibt es keine Null-Sterne-Bewertung. Ich habe am 7. Januar ein Hotel in Maçka für den Zeitraum vom 8. bis 12. März gebucht. Als ich am 8. März vom Flughafen am Hotel ankam, stellte ich fest, dass es seit dem 6. Februar geschlossen war, weil das saudi-arabische Tourismusministerium es gesperrt hatte. Ich habe sofort die Nummer angerufen, die auf der Buchung stand – niemand hat abgehoben. Dann habe ich eine andere Nummer versucht, die am Hoteleingangstür angebracht war – auch dort keine Antwort. Also musste ich mein Gepäck herumschleppen und mir ein günstiges Hotel suchen, weil mein Bargeld eigentlich für Essen und nicht für eine zweite Unterkunft gedacht war. Während der gesamten Reise habe ich nur Joghurt und Brot gegessen, weil meine Bankkarte in Saudi-Arabien nicht funktioniert hat. Am 11. März habe ich Expedia per E-Mail kontaktiert und eine Rückerstattung gefordert. Ich war schockiert, als ich die Antwort bekam: Sie teilten mir mit, dass ich kein Recht auf eine Rückerstattung habe, weil ich meine Buchung nicht rechtzeitig storniert hätte. Daraufhin schrieb ich Expedia erneut und erklärte, dass sie lügen – ich habe meine Buchung nicht storniert. Ich kündigte an, dass ich rechtliche Schritte einleiten würde und erwähnte, dass ich Videoaufnahmen als Beweis habe. Einen Tag später rief mich ein freundlicher Herr an, entschuldigte sich hundertmal und überwies mir schließlich das Geld zurück. Nach einem Telefongespräch mit meinem Rechtsanwalt wurde mir bestätigt, dass ich

The hotel was closed on the dates that I had booked. And I got to know about this when I arrived at the hotel, outside the entrance. I did not receive any emails or messages about this from this hotel. I also did not receive anything from hotels.com. I have contacted the hotel, but they have not answered my email. When I arrived at the hotel I also called them, but they did not answer.
