The mother and daughters own and run this boutique hotel-guest house in the middle of La Marsa neighborhood. It is not far from La Marsa beach and more lively neighborhoods, but this property does seem to be an isolated located. For someone from North America, it is too remote to access to anything and anywhere, but I can see it looks like an oasis property if you seek privacy. The owners and staffs are super friendly, but other than the two daughters who speak fluent English, everyone else is French or Arabic only. They put information pamphlets which give extremely useful tips about how to get around. But for those like me who did not do enough planning and homework, it is very difficult to get around and about, given the fact that it is a poor country and tourism services are few and far between. Ideally you only go there if you have relatives or friends who know how to live there. But on top of that, I make grocery store runs every day (15 min walk) to Monoprix and Carre Four, at least to get bottled waters, and limited choices of things you can eat. Not easy to find varieties of food eateries around. Again barebone tourism resources.
But the daughter owner was able to call her friend to pick me up from the hotel/guest house at 5:30am and dropped me at the airport for departure. I appreciate that even I need to pay more. Consider if you don’t have a Bolt app and speak French or Arabic, chances are that you won’t be able to go anywhere.
