Completely Unacceptable for a “5-Star Resort”

When paying a premium price at a luxury, 5-star resort, you have certain expectations and standards to uphold. My room was infested with gnats and ants — not just a few, enough to make it feel like I was camping, not staying at an upscale resort. To make matters worse, the entire room reeked of sewage and feces. The smell was overwhelming and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that advertises itself as high-end. No amount of amenities or pretty scenery can make up for the fact that the basic standards of cleanliness and comfort were completely ignored. I brought these issues to the staff’s attention, but the response was underwhelming at best. I was greatly disappointed.

Beautiful estate!

The estate is absolutely stunning. It was clean, gorgeous, and super comfortable. I was very pleased with the aesthetic and amenities. I found the food underwhelming which was disappointing based on the intention and care the place puts on having fresh, farm to table food.

A Truly Enchanting Stay at Il Borro I recently spent three unforgettable days at Il Borro, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside. The property is immaculately maintained and offers a perfect balance of luxury and authenticity. We stayed in a spacious villa that offered both comfort and charm—an ideal setting for relaxation. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, always going the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. One of the highlights was the food. The pizza was some of the best we've ever had, and the overall dining experience was fantastic, especially when paired with Il Borro’s impressive selection of wines. The wine tour was both informative and enjoyable, giving us a deeper appreciation for the estate’s rich winemaking heritage. The spa experience was another standout—peaceful, professional, and just what we needed to unwind. Every aspect of our stay felt carefully curated and indulgent. We’re already planning to return, hopefully for a longer stay next time. Il Borro is a true gem in the heart of Tuscany, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and luxurious escape.

Abbiamo trascorso il w.e del 1 novembre in questo straordinario borgo. La nostra camera era una suite delle aie. Camera molto grande, arredata con stile e nei minimi dettagli. Anche il nostro cane aveva la sua cuccia con ciotola, acqua e biscottino di benvenuto. Compreso nella tariffa anche i caffè, le consumazioni al mini bar e una bottiglia di vino di produzione il borro. Il servizio è impeccabile, ottimo anche il trasporto che viene offerto gratuitamente per muoversi all’interno del Borgo, cosi come tutti i ristoranti presenti in loco. Abbiamo usufruito della private spa, della visita in cantina e di una passeggiata a cavallo, tutto ben oltre le più rosee aspettative. La filosofia che c'è dietro a questo maestoso progetto è straordinaria e si respira in tutte le aree del borgo le quali sono state portate a nuovo mantenendo l'anima originale del luogo. Assolutamente da provare.

Our experience at Il Borro was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful. Our rooms were absolutely stunning, complete with amenities (robe, slippers, etc.) We ate at Osteria Del Borro, which was a wonderful experience; the food was fantastic. The breakfast options were also very plentiful, and the food very fresh. We loved exploring the grounds and would definitely recommend doing a wine tasting. We did the Drops of Jupiter Experience. Our family is looking forward to returning to Il Borro in the near future!

Great place to stay

The hotel is amazingly beautiful with a perfect Tuscany atmosphere. Great winery also. The wines produced in Il Borro are great. The only thing needs to improve is the service is waiters at all the restaurants, except for Osteria, which has great service.
