This was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Japan. Checking in was like no other place. They sat us down, gave us refreshments while they checked us in. The room was spacious and clean with room for me to do yoga and stretching, clothes washer/dryer unit which we used every day (we got very hot and sweaty with the summer humidity). Breakfast at their facility across the street was delicious and a great way to start the day. In walking distance to a lot of shops, but also right next to the local train station for getting around to things further away and only a few stops from the main Kyoto Station. The refreshments in the lobby were a welcoming treat after being out. There were even umbrellas to borrow for the one day we needed them. If we travel again to Japan, we will be looking for other Tokyu Stay locations.

This is my second stay at HANARE and it was perfect like the first time. My room was spacious, clean, and had all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The ensuite washing machine was very useful. All of the staff that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient to the subway station and walking distance to many restaurants and shops.

Super useful to have laundry inside the room. Spacious bed + walkable areas in the room, and the whole hotel has a chic retro vibe. The lobby, like most small Japanese hotels, is minimally sized but has free drinks and a small dining area for hotel guests. Front desk is super helpful with local recommendations, booking restaurants, transportation, etc. and they are always friendly as if they own the place. It's conveniently located near a train station (Karasuma Oike). Perfect for families who want to venture beyond the usual international chains, it's definitely got a local vibe!

Lived having cold water and sparkling water as I entered from the hot Kyoto weather. Staff were excellent. We appreciated the special tiuches, especially the origami and tea. Room spacious and clean. It took me a while to figure out how to use the washer, but managed.
