Misleading “Luxury” — Avoid This Property

I booked Global Luxury Suites at Capitol Hill expecting a premium stay, but my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the lift access code didn’t work. As a foreign visitor without a U.S. phone, I couldn’t get help, and the building reception refused assistance for Global Luxury Suites guests. I only got in because a resident let me through. No one told me I needed to download the “Latch” app beforehand. The apartment was freezing, no working heating and no clear instructions. Bedding was dirty — stained, with hair, and an extremely lumpy quilt. I arrived late after a long day of travel and had to find replacement bedding myself. The next day, “clean” bedding was delivered, but it was still poor quality. In the middle of the night, the AC started blowing cold air again despite being turned off. I left after one night, requested a refund, and had to pay last-minute hotel rates. The company refused to refund the unused nights. Hotels.com, the D.C. Attorney General’s office, and my card issuer all tried to contact the merchant with no meaningful response. Looking at other reviews, my experience is not unique — others report the same issues: dirty linens, broken access codes, no reception, unresponsive staff, and freezing apartments. This is not a luxury property, and their practices feel like a short-term rental scam. Recommendation: Avoid Global Luxury Suites at all costs. There are far better options in D.C. that will actually deliver what they promise.

Mostly good with a couple small complaints

The place was great for what we needed. Full size refrigerator, washer and dryer. It was a very nice little place. My only complaints were that they did not have us added to the Latch system when we got there, which was after the 4:00 check in time. And we called to ask for trash bags and a spatchula (only non stick kitchen pots/sheets but only metal spoons in the kitchen) and we were told they couldn't help us because it was the weekend and to ask the downstairs desk for some bags, and that they would have to check to see if a spatchula was available. I asked for bags downstairs and they laughed and said I was given the wrong information and they could not help me. Eventually someone brought us trash bags but we never did receive a spatchula.

Dejlig, ren og komfortabel lejlighed. Fint køkken. Lækker pool og rooftop. Mulighed for grill på rooftop. Alle instruktioner kom via mail. Der var ikke en receptionist på stedet. Vi modtog mail om indkvartering på etage 11, men da vi tjekkede ind virkede koden ikke da det var etage 3. Senere samme dag havde andre koden til vores lejlighed.

The apartment was clean , however the furniture was damaged and one of the drawers could not be opened on the night stand. Check in time was delayed by 30 minutes and there was no communication of the delay. One of the employees also entered the room 30 minutes before the check out time.

Nice appartment

As long as you are not confused about this being a hotel, then you are fine. We received clear instructions and the appartment was perfect for our family of 5. Kitchen could have a little few more utilities, but we managed anyhow. The pool area was nice with lifeguard, but without services. We bought a bottle of wine at the nearby CVS and enjoyed sitting on the rooftop with a perfect view to the Capitol.

Overall a great place to stay. Great location and building. Unit is nice but aging and water pressure in bathroom is weak. Garage parking in the building is not "in and out." You have to pay each time you leave. There is a cheaper lot around the corner where you may be able to do limited in and out for a few days.

Comfort, Convenience & Great Service

I had an amazing stay at this apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting DC! From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless and perfectly organized. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, an extremely well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, a fantastic bathroom, and even a washer and dryer. The AC was a lifesaver during the hot summer days, and the building’s amenities were top-notch. We made great use of the incredible gym and spent time enjoying the breathtaking view from the rooftop pool. The staff also stood out, they were proactive, checking in with us and keeping us informed throughout our stay. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, with clear instructions provided right on time. Looking forward to coming back to DC and staying here again. Huge kudos to the team for the fantastic experience!
