Disappointing
Love staying at the Avid hotels. Always comfortable, and the location is easy to get in and out of. We stay at the Avid when we are travelling through Savannah and had such an amazing time the previous stay, so we planned on staying 2 nights. After being gone sightseeing and supporting the local economy for over 10 hours, came back to our room and were shocked that it wasn’t cleaned, no fresh towels and the garbage wasn’t even emptied. We had no issue with the bed not being made, but the fact that the garbage from the previous day was still in our room wasn’t great. I mentioned my concerns the next day when checking out and the response I got was ‘I guess housekeeping didn’t get around to servicing the “stay overs”’. Unacceptable. I doubt that I will stay again. So disappointing.

Pay the "Pet-Friendly" Pet Fee (OR ELSE!)
Our stay here was generally fine though it was the smallest room among those we stayed in for a comparable price during our trip. Patrice was kind and professional. What rubbed us the wrong way is the "pet friendly" policy in which guests with pets are penalized with a $75 fee despite the fact that the presence of pets have little or no impact on the hotel. After we cleared out, our room required no more effort to clean than if we had not had pets. The fee is just a windfall for the hotel and it's not a good look. People don't enjoy getting fleeced and paying a few for nothing (or else according to the posted policies!!!) doesn't engender goodwill or brand loyalty. The hotel's employees all understand this because they hear the justified complaints on a regular basis. If management is truly concerned about the damage pets may cause, then a security deposit is more fair and appropriate. The "pet fee" is just a scam intended to improve the hotel's bottom line, and it's not a good look.
