"The Pelican Grand Beach Resort has some of the most beautiful & spacious rooms I’ve ever stayed in—large, well-decorated, & very comfortable. A special thank you to Merline at the front desk, who graciously welcomed us upon our early arrival around noon. She was professional, courteous, & delightful, & we truly appreciated being able to check in early. The restaurant staff, bellhops, & gift shop/gelato store team were all equally warm, helpful, & attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.
Another bonus to the location of the resort is that the # 11 public transportation bus runs on the A1A or N. Ocean Blvd. The cost to ride the bus is $2.
Please keep in mind that there is a $52 per night resort fee as well as valet parking on site runs $55 per night for regular vehicles.
Even though renting a car in Fort Lauderdale would be highly recommended, the high parking fee makes that expense unfeasible.
That said, there were a couple of disappointments. The Lazy River was out of order during our visit, which was a letdown since it’s one of the highlights of the resort. With that closed, the pool (which is not very large) felt crowded. In addition, we stayed in Room 322, and I would caution future guests about rooms 312–322. They are located near the service elevators, and beginning as early as 7 a.m., the loud rolling of carts and towel bins across the tile floors made it difficult to rest. More attention to minimizing noise in that area would go a long way."
