Very rude staff and absolutely no service at all.
Was there for 6 days and I would recommend everyone to spend your money somewhere else.

Mixed review but the beach is top tier
Highlights
-The beach
-Lots of staff to help
-Well laid out resort
-Scoops is an excellent option to have all day
-Room sizes
-Variety of entertainment and activities
Lowlights
-Check in process was chaotic
-Need another set of elevators. 2 is not enough for 2 buildings. Especially at peak breakfast and dinner times. Broke down twice while we were there.
-4 of 7 restaurants require reservations, and are only open from 6-10 pm. One requires payment.
-Really only one restaurant that serves a full breakfast
-Took really long to get food at Score
-Beach grill is quite small and food options are limited
-Would be nice to have snacks such as potato chips or nuts especially for families with young children

10 day break
The hotel is a large complex with a few restaurants and bars. The bar areas were nice but we found the food more 3 star than 5 star. The buffet was typical of an all inclusive hotel with a lot of options but nothing particularly special. We dined at the Italian restaurant one night which was ok but had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated despite a reservation time. We went to the steak house twice which was very good the first time but the second time we both had steaks that were mostly grissle! One bar stayed open to nearly 2 am which is not normal for an all inclusive hotel but it was fairly quiet most nights. The room was nice and modern but the view was over the lagoon not the sea which sadly attracted lots of mozzies and gnats and limited the time we sat on the balcony. The beach area was nice and most days we got sun beds fairly easily. There isn’t a lot around the area apart St John’s which is about 15 minutes in a taxi for €20 each way. It is busy around the quay area in the day but we don’t recommend going in the evening as not so appealing. Overall would we return NO especially at a cost of about £500 a night for 2.

Terrible Resort Royalton autograph
When checking in lots of hidden fees.
Could not get any dinner reservations and we arrived on Wednesday. Run out of cranberry juice and also other cocktails mixed. The curtains in room was old and hanging off hooks. When ordering food late no french fries for couple of days. The staff including the Manager at hotel needs customer service class. This hotel is very old and not manager very well. It’s 2 star not not a 4.5 on your site. It needs to be update so that people are aware. The food was not good because we could only eat at buffet all meals. The lights in rooms would not come on and when you called down their trying to explain to you what to do. I don’t work at hotel you need to have maintenance come up. The front desk surely needs to be more customer service oriented. The people in buffet was nice and also people at pool very nice. Upper management have to respect. I could go on and on but next time I will look close before booking with Hotels.com. Post true stuff about hotels not false advertising

Do Better
Check in is horrible. You book a certain type of room and they give you another and make you wait until the next day to get the room you requested. They hike the food prices up at Caribbean Restaurant and think you’re going to pay more…. NOT!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Royalton Antigua. The beach is beautiful. The pool and pool bar is lively with activities for the grown folks all day. The spa’s hydrotherapy, which is included with spa services, was exactly what the doctor ordered. The main dining buffet was surprisingly my favorite place to dine due to the large selection and wonderful staff.

Restaurant reservations must be done on app. App isn’t user friendly, you can only make reservations 1-2 days in advance not same day. Therefore you're stuck with buffet restaurant.
Pool/beach bar kept running out of drinks, or ingredients to make cocktails.
There was an unpleasant smell walking through outdoor areas and near pools.

If you don’t expect much from a ‘5-star’ resort, this would be an ideal place. The location and facilities are good for a leisurely holiday; however the general attitude of the staff and their service would leave you feel unwelcome and could significantly dampen your overall experience. Not something that you’d normally expect from a luxury resort that charges premium rates.

Me an my partner stayed here for 5 nights an we did not like this hotel at all there was no where to eat at everything was booked when he JUST got there besides the buffets. We had a terrible experience in the middle of night, water coming into our room because of a pipe exploding in the middle of the hallway we had to quickly pack up everything from our room because water was all over the floor. They didn’t even give us an explanation or anything for the inconvenience we had. On top of spending 3k for this vacation they still haven’t given back our $200 deposit we had to leave on my credit card where I also had to call them back 2 times that I have still NOT received my $200 back. Terrible experience don’t recommend this hotel. The staff was unprofessional and don’t treat their customers right.

First check in is scheduled for 3pm. We arrived a little before 3 but could not get into our room until 5:30. Most of the staff was not so welcoming or hospitable there were a few exceptions that were very kind. The food selection was limited and was always cold. The only hot meal I had was the made to order omelet and pasta. The resort itself was clean the pool and beach area are beautiful but there needs to be an upgrade on the service and food to be considered luxury as advertised.

They ran out of food everyday; my room was fill with smog everyday from unknown smoke whch started on the day I arrived. Hotel management said it was an outside company servicing the area by my room and they couldn't control when they worked so I was unable to use the balcony or open the window forcing me to use AC 24/7. I spoke to the expedia hotel representative on arrival during the first "smogging" and was never able to find him again. On the day I checked out I was told he was new
