The house is a short walk from the heart of the village, allowing easy exploration of Wordsworth's Dove Cottage and the famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop. Guests enjoy stylish, often lake-view, rooms and the added benefit of a complimentary infrared sauna, making it an ideal retreat after a day of challenging walks on the surrounding fells like Helm Crag. Furthermore, the on-site Grasmere Brewery and Distillery affiliation often provides guests with a discount on food and drink at the nearby gastro-pub, tying the stay to the very essence of local Cumbrian life. Nature at its best

We had a fantastic stay at Lake View. We didn’t realise that we could walk to the lake edge and spend some time in the sunshine. It was so peaceful and serene. The badger watching was an absolute treat.

Beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. Central location. Easy walk into the village or down the private access lane to the lake. Badgers are regular visitors as well as red squirrels.

Great central location with parking, just off the beaten track and a nice garden that badgers visit regularly. Sadly the ground floor room I stayed in had no outside view. The tall window was opaque for privacy reasons but the top half could have been left to be able to see outside. Felt a little claustrophobic. The proprietor was warm and friendly.

Great family stay

Amazing property and a host in Richard that goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Location is stunning and the property has lots of charms including private walk to Grasmere and gardens with nightly badger visits.

Fabulous Views, Great Room

Booked just one night as a last minute getaway. Stayed in the Penthouse which has a large blacony with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom great. The beams are low at the edges of the room but we are both tall and managed to avoid them :) I would highly recommend this place and will be staying here again in the future.

Lovely location a couple of minutes walk to the village centre and the quirky pub restaurant affiliated to the guesthouse. Food was limited but fine and the staff lovely and attentive. Made a nice change from the hotels we normally frequent in Grasmere. A minor issue would be the need for a shower attachment to the bath in the suite we stayed in. The garden was quiet and secluded where we enjoyed a bottle of champagne we brought with us as an aperitif before the meal. English breakfast in the morning at the pub was excellent and we came away with a bottle of Grasmere gin from the attached brewery. What’s not to like about this quiet hidden gem. Highly recommended.
