The Pillows we had on arrival were not clean (hair and smudges) so we asked for new ones, and the new ones were also stained. Room was very humid and not soundproof, there was a wedding downstairs that we could hear the music up to our floor, and we could hear sounds outside throughout the whole night (cars and sirens). Room was also very dusty, caulking in bath was cracked and there seemed to be mold there, room did not seem very well maintained and cleaned in general.

Read if you have teenagers.

Plugs were limited to two in the bedroom and two in the main room. One shared bedside table for the two queen beds. We had to unplug the light in the bedroom to plug in one of the chargers and plug in my husbands breathing machine for nighttime. Overall the outlet situation was Very frustrating traveling with teenagers. The pull out couch mattress was older and a little thin and squeaked with every movmement. My son was starving and wanted a bite of food. I was told there was no food available in the hotel until 5pm. No breakfast that i was made aware of. The location was great. Eddie the concierge was awesome! He was eager to help out, wrote out a list of things for us to do and checked on us every time he saw us in the lobby. Overall i would stay again because of the location. The outlet situation would be very challenging- especially traveling with teenagers. I would bring an extension cord. But for adults it would be fine.

Fabulous stay chez Palace Royale

We enjoyed our stay. The bellboy who greeted us was very helpful and gave great information about restaurants and told us about the fireworks on Thursdays in August. The hotel location is excellent - close to great tourist interests, and also chic neighborhood. Walking distance to so so much, great restaurants, shops, even a church converted library, used book and CD shops, Parlementaires, Place Royale, Artillery park, Plains of Abraham. We had lunch in Restaurant de Parlementaire, Le Don, dinner at Cochon D’hings, Chez Yen, Attaboy pizza late evening for a simple quick meal when tired. Also really close to Café Chouquette - fresh flaky croissants , beautiful and delicious cream puffs, and flaky Napoleons. Our hotel room window has a great sunset view. Love love our trip. Hotel service was very good, very responsive and polite. Thanks to the beautiful Quebec people and this hot!

Horrible Stay

No hot water only like warm for the 2nd. Paid for a champagne for 2 And the popcorn- asked front desk if it’s there and he said yes it’s in the room for a nice surprise only to find out it wasn’t. Called down to reception and they said it would be right up, took another 15 mins and by that time the surprise wasn’t a surprise anymore.

Highly Recommend!

The hotel is in the perfect location! 10 min. walk to the Governor’s promenade / Chateau Frontenac / Citadelle. 5 min walk to Parliament. Such a wonderful treat to have a live band play by the pool Friday evening! Evan & Stephanie played great covers and had many dancing in the pool! Highly recommend!

Great location, horrible breakfast

Positives: The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having a balcony overlooking the pool area was wonderful and the live music on Friday night was great. The location was great being just outside the wall to the old city. Negatives: There appeared to be black grime (mold?) around the sink, handles in the shower and on the ceiling in the bathroom. The smell of chlorine from the pool was very strong in the hallways and on the balcony. The hotel breakfast was extremely overpriced and pretty awful. The crepes were rubbery and there were fruit flies buzzing all around the uncovered food.

Lovely hotel, with one exception.

We came for a family holiday. The hotel was very nice and overall the room was quite comfortable and well laid out. We stayed in a room with a queen bed and the murphy bed in a separate room. My only criticism was that on entering the hotel, my mother needed to use the restroom, and the door for that room nearest the lobby was locked. We tried to ask repeatedly to be allowed to use it and the desk clerk told us we needed a key and for that we would have to wait in line to check in. That person's tone was rude and if this is the policy, it seems like a very bad one.

Hotel idéalement situé aux portes du Vieux Québec avec un parking souterrain. Un bar et un restaurant sur place. Nous n'avons pas testé la piscine mais vous conseillons de choisir une chambre ne donnant pas dessus car cela peu être bruyant et sentir le chlore
