Good Location, Poorly Managed

It’s disheartening that someone like Shaun is the face of this hotel’s management and is also the one responding to reviews. I’ve since seen multiple reviews echoing the same concerns about his treatment of guests, yet nothing seems to change over the past few years. If he is indeed the owner, it’s even more disappointing—everyone deserves to be treated with respect, especially families who have saved and planned for a special getaway. The location and potential of this property are truly excellent, but until management changes or is held accountable, I sadly cannot recommend this hotel. Respect, kindness, and professionalism should be the baseline in hospitality—not the exception.

The stay started nicely. There was lady at the front desk who was extremely polite and super helpful. The room was nice and clean. However the stay became bad with the presence of a guy named Shaun. He is the general manager. On the day we were leaving we asked at 6:53 AM if he can unlock the front door as our cab arrived and we have to carry our 7 suitcases but he kept saying the door opens at 7 am. My son asked for half cup milk but he said breakfast starts at 7 am.

The location is ok, BUT the room suck, there was sand on the top blanket, the breakfast room so small you need to make a 30 minutes line to grab a snack, not wort the price.

Very nice hotel. Very close to the beach. Allowed early check in which was nice. Even though it was located on PCH, it was quiet. The only negative was the specific room we were in. Room 315 is below the rooftop patio, so we could hear foot steps whenever someone was up there. At 5:30 am someone was moving chairs and that sound came through. Luckily there were no late night gatherings up there. The include breakfast had a nice variety and filling. The hotel manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking was free and easy. I’d return here if in the area again.

Hotel near the beach

The location was excellent. Everything was just a walking distance from the hotel. You can walk to the beach, grocery store, restaurants and coffee shops. Free parking is located under the hotel. Breakfast is served in a small room next to check in. You'll have to take the food to you room or outside on the patio table. The hotel manager Shaun was very kind and helpful. We stayed on the second floor. I would recommend the top floor (3rd). The hotel is old. You can hear people walking, talking and slamming their doors. Also the musty smell of the room, so we left our windows open. Overall we had a good stay. The location of the hotel was the best!

This hotel is not luxury, but location is awesome, with it being walking distance to the beach. They have beach gear to use, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. They make pancakes fresh each morning. Breakfast had several options and they make fresh pancakes in the morning. We chose this place because of its close proximity to the beach. I was happy with my stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at Ocean Surf Inn & Suites. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is very clean, especially for a small property so close to the beach. While there was a bit of sandiness here and there, it’s totally expected for a beachside location and didn’t take away from the overall cleanliness and comfort. The standout feature is definitely the location — just steps from the beach and within easy driving distance to town. Whether you're looking to spend the day in the sand or head into town for a bite or some shopping, this hotel offers unbeatable access to both.

Leslie greeted us and we got to check in early since our room was ready by 12. We enjoyed our room and was comfortable!! Bathroom just a little small and for the size of the sink. Very dangerous. Granddaughter hit her head twice. The shower downstairs for after the beach didn’t work very well. Besides that we loved the place and the rooftop sundeck was awesome!! And the breakfast was good and Leslie was amazing!!!! We would definitely come back!!
