Good stay

Bed was comfy. Rooms could be updated, but are clean and in good condition. Breakfast choices were limited. Lobby area was welcoming

Loved this place!

We loved staying here. The staff are all helpful and friendly. Even if the decor is outdated as some reviews mention, the rooms and property are immaculate! We’ve never stayed anywhere that every square inch of the room and bathroom were this clean. This hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to downtown Grand Marais. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you!!
Phillip, 1-night trip

Excellent view, service, and location.
Reed, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Convenient location, large room, but older decor. The 'continental breakfast' included very little protein (individual peanut butter cups).
Pamela, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Nice property and location. Wish they had more than a continental breakfast
Briana, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Hotel was nice and clean, but could use some updates. Breakfast head not ideal
Jessie, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Perfectly acceptable hotel w/ great view

The hotel’s biggest appeal is that it is in Grand Marais and offers great views of Lake Superior. It’s a bit dated (like many Grand Marais options) an

Had the best sleep in months!

We had the best sleep we have had in months! We chose the king room with hot tub in the room. They even had bath salts next to the tub! The room was dated (I was worried about the other reviews I read). But the bed, cleanliness and quietness outweighed everything. Isn't that what you want? Oh, the price was $100 less than any other hotel in the area (in August).

Great Location

This is a great spot walking distance from so many things in Grand Marais. It's not fancy, but is well taken care of and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The price is also excellent compared to many other places in town. We love that we can walk to Gunflint Tavern and shopping.
Jon, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Dissappointing

Dated furnishings in the rooms, worn/stained carpet seemed like a different place from the updated lobby. Our hair dryer didn't work, told front desk, but it didn't get fixed. Small sign, which we didn't see regarding having to request to have the room cleaned. I appreciate the ecological perspective but wish this would've been verbally stated when we checked in. Breakfast was predominantly carbs.
Nancy, 3-night trip

Lots of hot water for the jacuzzi and the tub. Superb view of the harbor and town. Close to restaurants and shopping. An ocean-like lake adds to the charm of the town.
Merlin, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

View was great
Jeffrey, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

We only stayed one night in Grand Maris. The room was clean, but dated. It served its purpose. Grand Maris is an entranceway to a lot of nature, hunting, fishing, etc. The town itself is okay.

I would check other options
Kevin, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The bed was comfortable. The room clean. Different types of cereal. Good overal
Sheila, 1-night trip

Not the best.

The hotel was very dated. The furniture and curtains in our room and in the seating area of the lobby were very old and tattered. The carpets had stains all over them. The bathroom and jetted tub were very clean. What we paid for one night in this room we can get 2 nights at a hotel in the twin cities.
Sandy, 1-night trip

Love this place- we stay here every year!
Kristen, 2-night trip

Dirty, overpriced for no continental breakfast
