Trash truck noise

The hotel and service were amazing. Unfortunately the trash trucks were out bright and early. It was very loud outside our room and we awoke to that noise for quite a while emptying trash along the street.

Wonderful Windsor

We absolutely adored this hotel! The historic renovation is amazing. The staff is fantastic. We only got Eliza’s name but every single person was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. The room was really an apartment with a separate bedroom, walk-in closet, full kitchen, and best of all, a washer and dryer. The 24 hour expresso and coffee machine, complimentary snacks and cold beverages, and robes and slippers were additional delights. Stay here if you’re in Asheville.

8/10 Very good

Bathroom shower was not safe for older adult. Very slippery tub, nothing to hold onto getting in and out of shower. On second floor so could hear people above us. Room was like a great apartment. Downtown location was wonderful, but parking was 1.5 blocks away with tight parking spaces.
Henry M., 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel was very nice. My biggest complaint is the parking is so bad, it doesn't feel safe parking in the ally the hotel provides, i went to move my car at 12am to the paid parking garage and there were numerous homeless in the ally next to the cars. Our check out was on Saturday and we were told we'd have to move our car to that parking garage because of a farmers market blocking the ally, so I ended having to pay for the parking. Also the front desk was on limited hours and I ended up helping two guest get checked in and find parking since I happened to be in the lobby. Outside of that the hotel was amazing. The room we stand in had a dated bedroom tv with no smart functions so we weren't able to watch Netflix together which was a bit of a let down but not a deal breaker. I really did enjoy my stay, the parking really was the worst thing about it. I probably wouldn't stay again due to that but really thats the only reason

Great for long term business travelers

Great location in downtown Asheville. It’s a short walk to excellent restaurants and only a short drive to the Biltmore. There were great amenities in the room, like a separate bedroom, kitchen, washer/dryer and spacious living area. The staff were responsive to the guest and I felt secure at the location in downtown. The issue for my wife and I was that it had more of a feel of a timeshare. There was no bar or restaurant in the hotel, which means there was no room service. As a traveler, room service breakfast is a luxury. Although there was a full kitchen, this trip was to get away from that. There was no valet and parking was awkwardly a block and a half away. Which, of course, we got to the hotel in a torrential downpour and the walk back from parking was a mess. Although we received clean towels on demand, there was no consistent housekeeping. The staff was very responsive to problems, but due to the building being older the living room was drafty and we had issues with heat. Staff were puzzled by the problem, but ultimately it got fixed. The last morning a crazy smoke detector went off and did a high wire act to turn it off. It’s considered a boutique hotel, but it’s more like an Air B&B. If I were a long term traveler or looking for a home base for a business stay, this is a great place. It’s apartment living, but for a vacation to relax for a couple days, in the future we’d go up the street a little ways to one of the luxury chains and get room service.

Close to restaurants and bars. Convenient. Parking is a short walk but was fine. Staff was helpful but not always there in the evening.

Windsor over biltmore hands down

Charming hotel was an absolute gem of a place to stay in. We decided on Windsor over the Biltmore because the rooms are much more spacious and charming… a bit of history and yet with all modern amenities. I didn’t feel like I was staying in a cookie cutter Marriott room. Felt like home and we will stay again.
