Terrible check In at Holliday Inn
Terrible check-in experience.
Supervisor Alex Gómez was unaware that Colombia’s biometric system replaces passport stamps and insisted on seeing a stamp or even a U.S. tax return to exempt us from the 19% VAT, despite showing a U.S. passport and airline tickets. He only agreed after we presented our tax return.
The first room was in terrible condition (broken shower, door removed, clogged sink, poor cleanliness). At first they refused to change our room, claiming the hotel was full, but eventually agreed.
I’m sharing this so others know you don’t need to show a tax return; the biometric system is sufficient according to Colombian immigration authorities.

Very poor wifi connection, and was having difficulty sleeping because of the loud noise at the aisle caused by the guests and workers. Additionally, the hotel allow pets there and you can hear the dogs barking every day. The worst part is the hotel have low quality mattress which caused back pain and had difficulties walking outside without taking pain killers. This hotel ruined my vacation. Too expensive and I am really disappointed with Expedia. I trusted your reviews, but you failed. For proof, ask the receptionist how many times I have complained.
