Desde antes de llegar un persona del hotel, nos hizo un fraude por 32,000 pesos intenta gestionar un cambio de fecha, la persona contesta en el hotel y luego se comunica de otro número y desde ahí hace el fraude. Would look into other options
Smelled like sewage (and I came home to Canada with that smell too). It took room service 2 hours to bring us water one night. It was also impossible to book a restaurant on the resort without paying an extra “fee” even though it says it’s included. Food just okay.

believe the other bad reviews — it was as bad as people say. we stayed here for a wedding. booked a swim up pool room which was the best option. our friends had the jacuzzi room and they said it was moldy and dirty they didn’t even get in. our tub was dirty, mold every where, the shower was overwhelmingly stinky, found a spider in our bed. not only was the room outdated it was straight up dirty. you can have old things but still keep them clean. we could check out of here fast enough. the workers were also some of the rudest people i’ve encountered at a resort. so much attitude and we watched them repeatedly serve white guests before us. we swam up to the bar and the bartender took orders from 4 white people groups that came after us. stay away unless you love the smell of mildew.

completely mismanaged resort
We visited to attend a wedding of our friends which was hosted at the resort. The food was decent, but beverages were cheap liquor with tons of sweeteners. The cleanliness and upkeep of the property was horrible. The kitchen was filled with roaches; the bar staff would throw cups into a lake of water and reach in to grab them with their bare hands to pour you a new drink as if they were clean. My two year old spent the first night vomitting everywhere, and was sick most of the rest of the trip presumably from food poisoning. When asked to change our sheets due to the vomit, we discovered one day later that all had not been changed and there was still vomit on some of them. But the biggest downfall by far was the service. check in was a nightmare and our room wasn’t ready. we were told we had a butler with our room and that he would contact us. we gave our number to three people. We never heard or saw our butler until 36 hours into our stay. Room wasn’t stocked with dishes or glasses. When we asked our butler he brought us two glasses. maids took them and didn’t replace them. was pretty much like this the entire trip. No one knew when or where places were and were open, couldn’t even get a straight answer to find bathroom. Every room service order was screwed up, not on time, missing items. Every time we brought up issues it was “that’s not my job.”. we spoke to a couple from Indiana who had been there every year for 10 yrs and they told us never again

Didn’t hate it. Didn't love it. Wouldn’t return
I didn’t hate my stay, but I’m not eager to return. The service in general was just fair - the swim up bar would have 4-5 workers behind it at almost any given time but only one guy serving, who seemed stressed cause it was always so busy. I went to guest services a couple of times and same thing, a few people there but one waiting on us. The coffee shop, same thing. Gift shop prices for snacks was absolutely absurd. I’ve seen high prices before; you just know for the convenience they’re gonna be high but a red bull, $10 USD, a bag of chips, $17 USD.. Tried paying the environmental tax in pesos (we are in Mexico after all) however they refused their own currency & would only accept USD. As someone that doesn’t even use USD, this was frustrating & stupid.. I’m in Mexico, let me use YOUR currency. My room was in a not-so-new building & the first night I went to get something out of my suitcase I saw bugs, so I moved my suitcase and found even more, then started removing my clothes from my suitcase and they were falling out of my clothes. I had a little bit of coffee left in my cup & the next morning there were about 8 bugs floating in it. The food was delicious, the buffet had tons of options. Drinks weren’t bad. The waitress around the pool was fantastic. FYI for the beach - you will not get crystal clear water here in south Cancun, it’s murky but there wasn’t any sargassum.

Resort is a bit dated but bed was comfortable, shower was great, and everything was in working order. Great staff. Buffet was very good and dinner at the steakhouse was excellent. Main complaint is too loud music in the pool area. But was great value for what we paid.

Great family trip
We went here on the recommendation of others. Service was great and it was definitely a lot of fun for the kids. The splash pad and slide for our three and six year-old were fantastic. The place is a bit dated, but it looks as though they’re trying to do some renovations. Our room was a bit Moldy, smelling or mildew and we asked for a change, but they were completely booked so that was not possible. My wife did get to go to the spa one day and raved about it. For no inclusive resort, the food was very good. It was fresh and the buffet was predictable. We did have a chance to eat at four of the restaurants all of which were really good with the exception of the Asian restaurant took way too long for service, which was a shame because the food was good For the price point it wasn’t a bad deal.

The worst! The Diamond Club upgrade is a complete joke. Paid for DC luxury junior suite with jacuzzi terrace and the resort doesn't even have them. They overbooked were going to downgrade us, & then expected us to be okay with it. After spending 4-hours arguing it was unacceptable, they finally provided comparable accommodations but essentially the room is the same as a standard hotel room with the exception of a private jacuzzi tub on the roof. We witnessed at least four other families going through the same thing, all with DC rooms. Only saw the Butler when they walked us to the room the 1st night. They never made our complimentary appt to the hydrospa, even though we requested it the night we checked in. Had to ask on the 2nd and 3rd days when we could expect to receive our complimentary "welcome" bottle of champagne, bottle of wine, and fruit bowl. The mini bar was never restocked. The facility is falling apart. Concrete all around the pools is crumbling and tears up your feet. The hot tub in the diamond club area turned brownish green twice during our visit... while people were in it. The resort had terrible odors both indoors and out, even at the buffet there was a foul smell that made you not want to eat. The rooms were also musty, had mold in shower, and rust on the furniture. Beds were hard. On the positive side, the drinks were good; the restaurants were nice if you could get a reservation. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else!!!

Terrible experience, not worth the price” We stayed at the Royalton Cancun from December 21st to December 28th with my husband and daughter, and it was a very disappointing experience. Over the course of our stay, we had to change rooms three times due to numerous issues. • The first room we were given had the wrong view—overlooking a construction site filled with dust. The room was dirty, with no soap or towels provided, the sink and shower were broken, and even the electrical outlet was falling out of the wall. • The second room was no better. We were woken up in the middle of the night by water dripping from the ceiling directly onto our faces while we were sleeping. • The third room faced the pool, but the bed’s mattress springs were sticking out, making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. On top of these issues, the room service was horrible. We often had to call multiple times to address problems, and they didn’t even deliver the food we ordered. The front desk rarely answered calls, and it was impossible to make restaurant reservations through them. We spent a lot of money expecting a luxurious vacation, but unfortunately, the entire trip was ruined due to the poor management and lack of basic hospitality at this hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
