8/10 Very good

The Hosts were available to talk to and the attention to the details was appreciated very much . Full breakfast options using regional produce . Room was cosy and bed was comfortable.

The opportunity to stay in this heritage listed property is amazing. Karen and Steve have done such an incredible job of providing such a comfortable and friendly stay. The room was just perfect, from the furnishings to the little extras like the bottle of Port in each room. A lot of thought has been put in to the decor and everywhere you look you will find something that catches your eye. They also offered to drive us to and pick us up from dinner in Queenstown so we didn't have to worry about having a drink with dinner. The breakfast offered was lovely, homemade bircher muesli and a full hot breakfast, homemade bread and jams, everything you could want to start your day. I highly recommend staying here if you want to feel a little pampered!

A beautiful mansion which takes you back in time. The grounds are lovely to sit back and relax in and the view over Queenstown is picturesque. Our hosts were attentive when you needed them but also faded into the background giving you the feeling that you were the only ones there. The only negative is that the bathroom was small and very tight. We had a lovely stay.

Gorgeous

This was such an amazing stay and a highlight of our holiday. Penghana is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and generously hosted. We were greeted with a tour and a brief history, both were fascinating. The room was tastefully indeed impeccably decorated and totally comfort driven. Everything was thought of, all the details. Breakfast was a real treat. Location fabulous a short walk to town.Love love love

A historical place to stay

This is not only a place to stay at Queenstown but also a historical place. We could learn the history of Queenstown there and made ourselves one of them. The host was really nice and introduced a lot about the town. The room was cozy and the living room, dining room, kitchen were all great. It made us feeling like being at home. The view from the place was also nice.

Fabulous B&B! Staying here is a must!!!

What an amazing stay! We only stayed overnight as we passed through the area, but so glad we stayed here. Steve, our host, was friendly and helpful during our stay. The house is so beautiful. It is in fabulous condition for its age. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The ensuite has been modernised to a very high standard. The hosts offer every comfort to make you feel at home.

A totally amazing stay in a property that allowed us to experience the history of the area. Our host Steve was so accommodating and informative and made sure he looked after every little detail for our stay - even organising our train experience foe the next day. Wish we would have stayed a few days longer to just explore around Penghana b&b . Do yourself a favour and definitely stop here !!

Brilliant West Coast Accommodation...

A brilliant stay - so good we are keen to return as quickly as possible. Excellent accommodation, service and location. The history of the house is wonderful and Steve knows every detail. Highly recommended.

Steve was an excellent host and willing to provide for us above and beyond. Everything was extremely cosy and there is a clear amount of enthusiasm for the history of the house as shown in the many finishing touches of photographs, books, and artifacts of the time. They embrace and enhance their community by providing local conserves, wines, and ingredients, and have an excellent partnership with nearby businesses. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and in Queenstown, and would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anybody looking to stay in the region.

Penghana B&B is a former residence of the General Manager of the Mt Lyell Copper mine, Mr Robert Stitch. Staying at the house is to experience the elegance of the era, to be surrounded by magnificent furniture, paintings and portraits, and to share in the history of this important mine. The stay is enhanced by the knowledgeable and most welcoming hosts, Steve and Karen.

A lovely Victorian Guest House

A beautifully furnished Victorian mansion dripping with history and informative hosts. The sitting room very comfortable and the kitchen area adequately equipped. A silver service full English breakfast tops off the stay. If I could make one suggestion for improvement it would be to have an espresso / cappuccino machine available in the kitchen
