Pros:
Cleanliness, staff - Dominga was wonderful, food - pre-booked your a la carte dinners as they fill up FAST, boozy (omg) drinks, pools were heated, day beds, covered loungers, and entertainment. Relaxing atmosphere.
Takara had great food. Probably the best restaurant on site. Buffets were quite good, as well.
Cons:
Ocean was a major let down. Looked more like a lake - no white sand and turquoise water here. Sand wasps all over beach but they don’t bother you, so you get use to them pretty quickly. Jelly fish in water.
NO wait staff around pool “fun pool” and 1 staff member circulated occasionally for drinks around the “quiet pool” - you need to go to bars to get your own drinks. Same for food - you need to go to one of the two buffets for lunch. No snacks around pools ever. No take out food anywhere - even my coffee to go was put in plastic cup. I’ve never experienced this at an all-inclusive resort, so I was surprised.
We had an issue with our first room - smelled like mildew. They fixed it right away and had us moved to a new room, which was perfect. Beds are, however, quite hard.
Overall, we had a very good stay and really enjoyed ourselves. I won’t come back this resort because we came to Punta Cana for the beautiful beaches, which are not at this location, and we want the full all-inclusive experience.
That said, I’d still recommend this resort but make sure you know what you’re getting and not getting here.
