Good stay in Cambridge!
I stayed in the hotel for one night only but the environment, cleanliness were perfect. We also signed up for the breakfast deal which was so tasteful in such reasonable price. It is a convenience location to access any spot of Cambridge.

Good but not worth for money
Interesting hotel as it was used to be a staff quarter of Cambridge. Prepared to walk as some of the room cannot be reached by lifts. We only stay for one night so we don't have heavy luggage. Staff are very friendly but not that helpful. Was told had reserved a table for dinner and we found the restaurant was closed. Food are tasteless of the restaurant in the hotel.

Fine but room needs a refurb and update.
Great location in an attractive building. Staff very friendly and bar was very good. Bed very comfortable. But the room we stayed in was tired and needs refurbishing. Carpet was stained, furniture chipped, watermarks on ceiling and a stained toilet bowl. Nothing to make a stay uncomfortable but for the price, the room (small suite) was disappointing. Also no wardrobe space for long clothing items (taken up by shelves for kettles , safe etc). Finally very few plug points which is strange these days. Overall not up to the standard of other H du V’s we have stayed at in the past. Parking is a schlep away - be aware if this is an issue for people.

Working Vacation
Nice hotel in a convenient location that also wasn't too busy. I was on a working vacation so the large desk and in-room coffee was appreciated. I do think the room could use a bit of care as a few items were broken or missing. However, it was clean and comfortable so the important points were covered.

First Rate Service
Outstanding service ! We arrived early and asked if we could leave our luggage . Csilla Csanyi could not have been more helpful. A real credit to your Company. On our return later to check in again the service we received was top class. It’s rare these days to actually receive such genuine service. We would have no hesitation staying with you again.

Great bar and hotel, some rooms could be better.
Was ok, room was really cold and without a radiator, you could put the air fan heating on, it would eventually work but dry out the room. Rooms cleaned well, but towards the end of the day. Bar here is excellent with great staff, very good service and atmosphere.

Comfortable but needs basic updating
This was my first time at the Hotel Du Vin. It’s usually out of my price range but this time it was inexpensive. Overall, it was a comfortable stay. This is an old-fashioned English hotel where the floors feel uneven and every room is different and quirky. The room and bathroom were very large. Water got very hot. The decor is old which doesn’t matter so much to me but they really need a clock in the room and some usb ports. The toilet doesn’t flush well, which was somewhat annoying. I missed having access to a full-length mirror and a space to put my folded clothes. The common space mural and photos of rich, drunk party people was tacky and off-putting. Seems like a strange choice for a classy hotel. Service was good, though, and I slept well. Would I stay here again? Definitely not for the regular rate. For a lower rate, maybe. But it was a nice alternative to staying by the station.
