Lovely stay with warm hosts, breakfast is lovely

Loved the bedroom and the bath, so spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and packed lunches were delightful. Stuart and Catherine are warm hosts that instantly make you feel welcomed.

Wonderful stay with wonderful hosts

We've just returned from a three night stay at the Lake View Guest House and miss it already. Stuart and Catherine were warm hosts and attentive to our every need, from a cup of tea and cake at check in, to the homemade gin and biscuits in the room, to the fantastic breakfast. They also provided great advice on where to eat and what to do in the surrounding area.The view from the room was spectacular. We can't wait to return!

We loved our stay! The home is a beautiful example of Arts and Crafts style. The garden is exquisite and the breakfast and food delicious, but the charm and hospitality comes most from the gracious and kind hosts! They made us feel like family or cherished friends. We loved our stay and would love to return! Thanks so much for making our stay wonderful!

Exceeds expectations with bathroom to die for.

This is probably one of the top three B&B's we have ever stayed in. The welcome was warm, checkin was flawless and the room exceeded expectations. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and informative and nothing was too much trouble. The little extras like home made biscuits, hot cross buns, damson gin and home made preserves turned a special stay into an extra special stay. Breakfast was plentiful and perfect with a good selection of choice available. Made to feel special as hosts remebered each persons name and were attentive without being overbearing. Having fresh ground coffee and a pot of tea available is a winner. Rooms were spacious, excellently maintained and the bed, duvet and pillows was as comfortable as you would expect from a 5 Star Hotel.

Stewart and Catherine were the consummate hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and there was a genuine keenness to make our stay as memorable as possible. From the friendly welcome on arrival including complimentary coffee with Catherine’s homemade cake to all the other details that made our stay delightful (complimentary homemade biscuits, fresh milk and homemade slow gin in our room, a wonderfully varied and generous tasty breakfast, only three guest rooms so it was never noisy or too busy with people). It’s a 5 minute stroll to Derwent Water lakeside but the property is also ideally situated for quick road access to the wider Lake District. We’ve stayed at many guest houses in the Lakes over the years: this was easily the best experience.

The nicest B&B we have stayed in. Incredibly clean and tastefully furnished. Very comfortable beds with crisp cotton bedding. Everything , including the lovely garden is so well- cared for. Everything we could need or want had been thought about- home-made biscuits, complimentary gin on arrival, bath robes. Excellent breakfast and very friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough to make our stay such a pleasure. Thank you.
