Disappointing. Better cleaning needed.

The wall next to my bed appeared to have had a glass of red wine thrown at it and the radiator underneath was so dirty. It really was disgusting. I have emailed the hotel to complain but so far they have chosen to ignore me and I have waited 2 weeks for a response. The maid came to the room to clean the bathroom and then asked me what if I wanted anything else doing! (Well your job?! is what I thought) The beds clearly needed making etc. So we came away disappointed. Also the coffee and the machine in the room is completely disgusting and undrinkable. Better off with a the kettle and take some instant coffee with you. Another thing to mention is that the lovely picture you see online of the room is not what you get, certainly not in our case. The hard and uncomfortable beds and the huge desk fill the room so much that there is very little space left to move around. We won't be going back. The only thing I enjoyed was the jacuzzi, however then we couldn't get in our lockers to get our clothes so even that moment of happiness was ruined! Ha what a joke.

Needs a little more attention

Polite reception staff. Room was ok, dirty sock under the bed! Staff in bar area talking before noticing I was stood at the bar. They do not take cash. Unable to swim with daughter until lifeguard present which was fine only no lifeguard showed up on Wednesday morning.

The hotel from the exterior was pleasant enough as well as the interior but the closer you look the dirtier the room got. The check in process took a while but the staff were pleasant. The walls of the room were covered in black marks and scuffs, the mugs provided were stained and there were also stains on the throw that was on the end of the bed. The balcony doors were are mouldy.

Great bar and restaurant poor room

The staff were all very friendly and professional . The gym and spa were ok the bar and restaurant were very nice with good food . The rooms are dated and the bed desperately needs a new mattress. Feels a bit like all fur coat and no knickers .

Great location, superb facilities, relaxing stay

Beautiful buildings situated in fairly remote location. Very pleasant, helpful staff, comfortable, well equipped rooms. Beds are comfy but disappointed to find its 2 singles combined as i lay in the middle and got the seams. Delicious food and well stocked bar. Plenty of staff despite hosting a wedding the evening we stayed. Would 100% recommend

Disappointed with the suite standard of decor

We stayed in a suite and the room was a good size and could have been perfect, however it has an overally complicated light system controlled by Alexa, the decor is not to a high standard with wall paper pealing, paint work and finish really rough. The room could benefit from a good clean - the shower is caked in scale and the floor corers were really dirty. Disappointing given it is meant to be newly decorated. The saving grace is the pool which is fantastic and the food was very good. If only they paid more attention to cleanliness of the rooms and had better decorators! The cleanliness of the communal areas seemed better.

Some issues

The hotel is starting to look a bit tired and dated. The Spa was excellent and a great plus for guests. The restaurant was good, but poss the menu could offer more dishes. My room which was 209 had the sun beaming in early morning, these rooms that have a window facing East need a black out blind or curtains as venitian blinds do not stop all the light. (we have holiday rentals and all bedrooms have a black out blind fitted. I stood on a slither of glass in my room for a broken glass by previous guests but luckly it did not cut me just pierced the skin.

Needs work!!

Spa complex was good, hotel not so! i Stayed on the first floor, the WIFI was non existent, room was in need of modernising, faulty socket (hanging off!) where heater was plugged in, as pictured. Cold shower in the morning!!

Attention to detail.

The position of the resort on the canal was lovely with nice walks accessible directly. The hotel pool area was spacious with room to swim and relax, although many of the lockers could not be secured. There was plenty of parking and pleasant outside seating areas. My room was of an adequate size but maybe needed some TLC and decorating. The bed was really comfortable and the room had a bath, this was a nice facilty but a lack of hot water was an issue. I tried to order room service, my first choice was unavailable, as was my second selection. My third phone call went unanswered so I gave up at that point. The staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful. I would stay again but the resort needs some maintenence considering the prices and the lack of hot water a disappointment.

Comfy stay

I've stayed here before and after a second trip I feel I can make a fair assessment. The room was fairly newly decorated, neutral, comfy and clean. Walls very thin though TV was great, you can screen mirror from your phone or tablet which made our movie night. Bathroom was dated and shower desperately needs updating along with improved water pressure. Ladies we need a movable shower head don't we? Fan didn't work with no bathroom window which isn't ideal (room 302). The showers in the club room were far better pressure wise so we used those, sadly the water went off for an hour during our stay, no idea if it was coincidence or something that happens regularly. Room service food was of a good standard, was a little cold by the time it reached us, but they can't work miracles. It was super tasty. Pool was very clean and so were the ladies changing areas. They are in the process of updating lockers, good timing as they are all fairly useless and don't lock. The pool offers family times which is great, however there's no 'shallow end' and actually nowhere for kids to use apart from the lane swimming with everyone else. We ended up playing by the steps. If your child is too old to be held in the water but not old enough to swim I wouldn't come here. My son (8) swims well so we were ok. Breakfast wasn't included in our deal so we didn't use the Waterside, it was lovely last time I stayed. Staff were all friendly, polite and professional. Would I come back? Yes, on a deal.
