Douglas is a lovely spot and very safe. Plenty of excellent places to eat along the harbour and promenade. Food excellent during stay on the Isle of Man, but get out and explore rest of the Island. People are very friendly and inviting. Worth a visit

Rap up as we underestimated how cold it would be in the mountains. OH yes! when you see the sign for "National speed" it means that "THERE IS NO SPEED LIMIT" otherwise stay within the limits in other areas.NEVER call England the Mainland they hate it

Good old peaceful seaside town with unseen amusement arcades. Nice stroll. Biggest souvenir shop in town which is one long pedestrian precinct. Electoral north end and steam trains to southern end with public transportation (buses) frequent

A very very special place for me. The charm of the inner harbour or a brazing walk along the promenade so so good for mind and soul whatever the season or whatever the days throws up weatherwise.

It's very clear that the Isle of Man don't do service. Literally everywhere I went was the same. Douglas is however nicer than I expected very quiet in the evening but some good restaurants and nice views. Be warned the seagulls are noisy
"Arrived on early flight, dropped luggage off at 10am and asked if possible would the room be available any earlier than 3pm. Was told to come back and check at 1pm which we did and it was ready, really helpful with young kids!
Spacious room, great location and probably one of the best breakfasts on the island."

Toilet not brilliant and being on fourth floor with no lift exhausting but would stay again on a lower floor.

"We had a lovely stay. Beds were comfortable and the room overlooked the sea. It was very relaxing falling asleep to the sound of waves. The thing that makes this place so special is Miriam, her family and the team. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so kind. I will definitely stay again. Thanks Miriam "
