For a budget hotel where you can rest your head, this is a good place to go. The bed was nice and comfy and it wasn't as unclean as the past reviews make it out to be. Perhaps they have improved since then?

Remember you get what you pay for this is one of the cheapest rooms in Kemtown Brighton but it was ideal for what we needed it’s not as bad as the other reviews make out - if your on a tight budget it’s about your only choice & it’s good value for money excellent location.

Ok, room bit small, TV didn't work properly, nobody to help with check in.

Window was broken, carpet smell like sick, shower was too hot to go in.no parking the only good thing was the location.

Catfishing rooms

We arrived at the hotel confused on how to get in, you have to call a number on the side of the hotel to get checked in, The man who showed us in didn’t seem very welcoming at first but livened up after a few days of bumping into him and asking questions, be prepared for dodgy windows and bad shower pressure, it’s a good hotel for a short stay although the rooms look different online

Room looks much better in the photos than it does in person, my room hadn’t been cleaned at 3pm when I turned up to check in. I had my door knocked on dead on 11am to make sure I was leaving (not a problem but unnecessary). Not bad for somewhere to stay after a day of drinking but not somewhere to take the girlfriend for a romantic weekend

Upon arrival We received a call, the property had no power and bed and bedroom was flooded, we were sent to another hotel, very basic, bed was broken, no plug in sink, blood on wall in bathroom , bathroom door didnt close properly, plug socket broken and dangerous .

Room without a view

Good location. No rail in the wardrobe, shower cubicle dirty and poor water pressure. Curtain nailed to the rail and didn't fit the window so everyone could see in, complained but nothing was done. Furniture painted and chipping off, only a couple of lights working. Would not stay here again.

Cheapest hotel in Brighton - tolerable

The cheapest room to stay in brighton that is not a hostel for a reason. Very small, old-style furnishing, room heating can’t be controlled, it comes and goes for hours if not days at a time. For the cheapest rooms, bathroom is not private. However, clean, service is ok, and security locks all work well. Internet is solid for everyday use, not highspeed. Also 3 minute walk to the beach, and a local co op right outside. I would suggest innit saltwater which is another budget hotel nearby, it strikes a good balance between low cost and cosiness with a much more modern and stylish feel

Read the reviews! Attempts to contact the property regarding the issues went ignored by the property. Received automated responses. Avoid.

Would not recommend even tho it is cheap mold all on the walls and ceilings and walls did not reflect pictures online

Very disappointed

The room was really shabby only one lightbulb worked the shower was scorching hot so could not wash my hair the floor in the bathroom was uneven the blinds were broken so we couldn’t close them and we had one flat pillow each so ended up with terrible neck ache

Disgusting and dangerous

Didn't enjoy. Wouldn't come back again. Shower was filthy with black mould and the walls were covered in stains. I also nearly fell down the stairs because one of the steps is broken, but hidden by carpet. Absolutely rank

This should not be on expedia as it is not a hotel, but temporary accommodation for refugees and those without secure housing. I wouldn't even class it as a hostel. The advert on Expedia states you will be greeted by a member of staff, however there are no staff, no reception etc, as all rooms just have a key code (which of course wasn't even provided to us). If you think you are getting a bargain you are not.

This place was so filthy and not secure (lock was dodgy) we could not stay there. We had to use a credit card and go elsewhere. Incredibly disappointed and disgusted. I expect to receive a full refund.

My shower had hair and dirt in it there was mould in my cupboard the shower didn’t work and nobody came to fix it after me calling six times and then had random people trying to get in my room in the morning poor staff and management there is no communication and no hygiene would not recommend

no staff / no email to advise this and key was in the door, which was open although was supposed to be in combinastion lock

Never again

I would never return here. The photos on websites are not accurate and very misleading. The room looked shoddy and tired. The bedbase was way too large for the bed and had peeling paint. There was a picture on the wall hanging upside down. The socket by the bed was hanging loose. The television was not working. Running my fingers along the inside of the handbasin I could feel a thin layer of scum. The general impression was one of nobody really caring about the guest. Please look at the photos as proof.

The worst hotel I've used in 30 years travelling!

I was shocked that such an establishment exists in modern Britain! It was filthy, stains all over the badly-fitted carpets, shower in the room had not been cleaned (evidence of urine in shower, as there is no toilet in the room). The shower didn't work and in desperation, I searched and found a shower two floors down, also filthy, but at least with a trickle of water of a bearable temperature. There was no lock on the door to this shower. Out of 5 lights, only two worked, so no light above sink. The bedding was horrid, pillows full of cheap, lumpy synthetic material, like my dog pulls out of his toys. The smell was awful. It is a disgrace that Hotels.com have this place on their books. I met a woman in tears at the entrance - she hadn't slept either. A humiliating experience!
