First off didn't know we will be in a house with owner and family:( amenities didn't include TV or laundry with extra cost that was unexpected. Lots of noise which the lack of TV didn't help. Not a restful hotel stay as expected and we certainly could have paid less at a hotel with more amenities. The room was sufficient with bed and thank God it wasn't shared! The ad wasn't clear and we didn't know what to expect until it was too late.

No where in the description was it mentioned that this was a personal home that is shared with the host family. It was confusing getting into the property, and the shared spaces did not feel welcoming since there was personal belongings of the family scattered around. The property was clean and well maintained, it was just a surprise to us that it was a personal home. The shower was funky with a 40" circular shower with a 12" shower head. There was no where to actually get out of the water to lather up or anything, and I'm glad that I'm only 6' and not 6'2 since that was the height of the shower head. One policy was quiet time from 10 pm on, which we tried to abide by, but could hear the host family either talking, doing dishes, or watching TV well past that time which kept us awake. Also, the need to leave $30 for a cleaning fee wasn't mentioned anywhere in the description. Overall, not as described and I feel like the entry and description on Expedia is misleading.

Rose Garden room rental

Our stay in Richmond was a room/suite inside a large private home. The hosts were friendly and attentive in getting us settled. Easy access in and out, but we had to walk through their house to our room. Very very clean and quiet. Located in an upscale, well maintained neighborhood of spacious homes. Parking was on the street around the corner from the door.

Nice clean ensuite unit. Pleasant owner and friendly family. The only disappointment is that it’s a queen size bed instead of a king bed as in the reservation page. So didn’t get good night sleep for the 3 nights. The bathroom has no heating, so it’s really cold getting up in the middle of the night.

I was in town for an Alaskan cruise with my uncle. I had booked (and paid extra for) the bigger room with the sofa bed. I received instructions for after hours check-in, which had me assigned to room #1. When I showed up at 11:45pm and attempted to enter my room, it was locked. I was finally able to get the owner’s son’s attention at 12:10am only to be told that they had given my room to someone else. I was then given room #2, which was a king size room, but not conducive for my uncle and me. I ended up sleeping on the floor. I never received any comments from the owner apologizing for the mix-up or refunding the difference between the two rooms. On the positive note, it was a very clean room.
