Came from Patong beach area before this resort. In our opinion Kamala is a little quieter while still having fun shopping, food and activities. We enjoyed this a bit more while still having the option to take a Grab over to Patong for more action.

There were some sewage pollution issues at Kamala Beach when I was there, so I did not go in the water. The area smelt very bad; when you walk from the hotel to the beach you pass a foul smelling canal. Hopefully fixed now?! Other beaches nearby.

Kamala needs to clean up the area around the beach. No trash cans so people just litter. The beach needs to be cleaned every day.

"From the moment we arrived at Thavorn Resort, we were swept away by the stunning grounds, warm hospitality, and tranquil vibes. This resort is truly a hidden gem nestled along a beautiful stretch of beach—perfect for anyone seeking both luxury and nature.
The lagoon-side pool room was spacious, clean, and steps away from the water. Waking up to the sound of birds and the lush tropical scenery felt like something out of a movie. The swimming pools are some of the best we’ve seen—winding, peaceful, and surrounded by gardens and charming animal statues that make the whole place feel magical.
Staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, whether it was arranging transportation, booking tours, or offering local recommendations. The breakfast buffet was full of delicious Thai and Western options, and dining by the sea at their restaurant was a highlight.
We especially loved the quiet, relaxed atmosphere compared to busier resorts—perfect for couples or families who want a peaceful stay. And the location? Ideal. Easy to access attractions like Big Buddha, Patong Beach, and the ferry to Phi Phi Islands.

"Stayed here twice sandwiching a trip to Kuala Lumpur. I repeat my comments from my previous review. I cannot rate this hotel to highly. It’s a beautiful setting on the beach. I think it has four swimming pools of course regardless of the facilities, the thing that makes or breaks any establishment is it staff. The people here are lovely and cannot do enough for you. The local resort of Kamala is only five minutes walk away and is a nice quiet strip of restaurants, bars and shops . No excessive noise , go go bars or being pestered . Ideal location for a family or mature people who like a bit of peace and quiet. However, if you want things a bit busier PATONG is only 15 mins away . I have been to Thailand probably 20 times over the last 40 years and this is my favourite hotel."
