A great discovery just off Saint-Etienne

We stop half way on the road from Canne to Blois and were delighted to have chosen Hotel du Golf. A most corteous and professional welcome to a spotless and comfortbale hotel which we had chose due to its restaurant service for dinner.....and we were happily surpised by the quality and variety of the menu served by a very friendly team in most pleasant surroundings. Well woth a visit.

En vrac : hôtel quasi vide mais chambres affectées qui donnent sur l'arrière de l'hôtel (toits des cuisines, vue bouchée à 20 m vs vue sur le golf et les montagnes en façade), du coup odeur de graillon dans la chambre. Meubles de la chambre abimés par les années, une partie étant inutilisable (ancien emplacement réfrigérateur). Chevet ridiculement bas par rapport à la hauteur du lit. La porte de douche posée sur la baignoire n'est pas assez large. A côté, la piscine n'est pas chauffée (resté 10 min dedans fin juillet...), douche piscine ne fonctionne pas (il faut aller dans la douche des toilettes qu'on a trouvée tous seuls). Literie très bonne, chambre propre. Restaurant très bien. Au général, une promesse globalement non tenue. Des 2 étoiles font mieux.

Bel hôtel avec vue magnifique

Personnel accueillant et dévoué. Si nous avons trouvé la chambre un peu petite par contre la propreté est irréprochable, la literie de très bonne qualité et le calme de l'hôtel permet de prendre un bon repos. Cet hôtel est à recommander pour son emplacement, sa piscine au bord de laquelle sont servis petit déjeuner et repas. Une vue magnifique sur le golf et les lumières de Saint Etienne. Un air de vacances bien appréciable !

Magnifique séjour dans le meilleur hôtel de Saint-Etienne, la suite était spatieuse avec tout le confort nécessaire ,la vue sur le golf était incroyable. Le restaurant à la hauteur de l'hôtel. Je recommande vraiment et reviendrai si un jour je séjourne à Saint-Etienne

Leuk hotel, een beetje verstopt op een heuvel in een rustige omgeving. Kraaknette en ruime(bad)kamer. Vriendelijke ontvangst door Sarah bijgestaan door hoffelijke collega's. Kraaknette en ruime (bad)kamer met kitcherige accessoires. Nog te vermelden het uitgebreide ontbijt met de Sempa-fruitpers als blikvanger. Niet gegeten in het restaurant.

Déçu car ma chambre était à côté de l’ascenseur et le mécanisme et/ou moteur était bruyant : résultat : endormi tard et réveillé de bonne heure. Malgré que la salle de bain soit équipée d’une baignoire : impossible de prendre un bain car il n’y avait pas de bouchon pour conserver l’eau dans la baignoire. La pomme de douche était à moitié bouchée voir au 3/4 par le calcaire certainement. Déçu pour un hôtel 4 etoiles

Quelle déception... !

Quelle déception... Tout est à revoir ! Si vous cherchez un hôtel 4 étoiles digne de ce nom, fuyez ! La qualité n'est vraiment pas au rendez-vous, le service est nul, le bâtiment n'est pas entretenu (ampoules grillées, éclats de peinture, etc...), les chambres sont vieillottes (vieux mobilier, vielle télé, clim pas entretenue, vieux carrelage, vieille faïence, etc...) (les photos du site internet ne reflètent vraiment pas la réalité). Il n'y a même pas de mini-bar dans la chambre, je n'ai jamais vu ça dans un (soit disant) 4 étoiles. Quant au restaurant, on vous sert de la nourriture congelée (poisson surgelé), entrecôte dure comme du béton, le serveur vous sert avec les doigts qui touchent la nourriture dans l'assiette... Le petit déjeuner à 18€ est un scandale : on y trouve le minimum du minimum, viennoiserie surgelée, la charcuterie n'est pas fraiche, le pain est coupé par tous les clients à la suite, sans protection (super l'hygiène !). Il n'y a qu'une machine à jus d'orange, pas d'autres jus de fruits, pas de bacon, pas d'oeufs à la coque. Bref... un vrai désastre ! Quant au bar, c'est le pompon ! Je pense que le barmann n'avait jamais dû faire un mojito de sa vie. Je pense que si j'avais demandé une limonade à la menthe, ça aurait été pareil. Seul point positif : vous pouvez déjeuner au bord de la piscine pour profiter du cadre, sur ce point là, tout est parfait, ouf ! Bref, je me demande vraiment comment un tel établissement peut conserver 4 étoiles...
