Get a waterfront room. Sunset is magic!

Great location as it is less then 10 minutes to airport and town proper, Breakfast is ok , pricesare a little expensive for the quality of food and drink on offer, It is getting older now and needs a tidy up but its a good solid hotel to use as your base. Make sure you get a waterfront room. Sunset is magic

Excellent short stay at the Edgewater with our 3 year old. Spent most of the time in the pool where our toddler made lots of friends with other kids. Stunning spot to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast was basic but adequate (cereals, breads, fruit) but chaotic and busy. More of a party atmosphere than elsewhere but very enjoyable still.

By no means luxury

Curtains are so light they let in all the light. Paired with screaming chickens doesn’t make for a great nights sleep. A lot of the staff seemed miserable as well which showed. At the end of the day it does the job but wouldn’t stay again.

I was expecting a lot as first time to Edgewater but was disappointed. We arrived on a very late flight pleasant check in but had to lug our luggage and carry them 3 floors up with a female staff assistance to show us where to go to add to that ....hope you like stairs. Housekeeping staff was Excellent and friendly. Room was ok, Bed was uncomfortable, spacious but not comfortable, hooks required in bathroom. Fòod was ok, service staff was good some pleasant some not, too much NZ influence with food instead of local food. Entertainment was excellent especially the 3 man band (*****) for this!! Property was immaculately clean and very tropical.

Stayed in both a 3 bedroom villa as well as a standard garden room. The resort is 51 years old and looks and feels very old and tired. It is in desperate need of an upgrade. It has high occupancy due to package deals and family friendly accommodation, yet it doesn’t appear to have had any money spent on it. This became even more apparent when visiting other resorts around the island. Not a resort we would return to.

Overall great room - the staff rectified tell the bed issue quickly and was pleased with result. Plenty of towels & soaps, fantastic water pressure in shower!! Disappointed with continental breakfast option. Felt more basic that what continental should be! Food & Beverages quite pricey.

The property is very tired. Rooms are ok, VERY clean. The 3.5% charge for paying with my card was ahocking, if I’d known this I would have paid before I got there . Good was not so good- the inclusive breakfast was terrible- we paid for cooked breakfast every day. Most of the staff were lovely- the ladies in the restaurant were beautiful. Unfortunately don’t think I’d stay here again, as the room felt like a cell.

Room was great. Staff mostly friendly. Takes ages to order anything. They prefer waiters to take your order but they don’t keep an eye on customers arriving, even when quiet, so you end up waiting longer than you’d expect - but it’s island time. Overall though, the accommodation was good. Continental breakfast was basic. Highlight was the delicious pawpaw fruit! Cooked breakfast (additional) was good. Lunch and dinner options mostly deep fried / burgers. Limited healthy options. Beds comfortable. Room clean. Pool mainly for kids. Some fun free entertainment. Snorkeling gear free to use.

Our son was celebrating his 17th birthday during our short stay and just by letting the staff know this and asking what they may be able to do to help make it special we were very surprised and very pleased to find our villa decorated with a happy birthday message on the bed and a beautifully presented little birthday cake and celebration drinks in the fridge. If this wasn't enough, when we approached a staff member at breakfast to ask for some small token of the day they quickly decorated and presented a breakfast muffin with a birthday message to surprise our son. The staff always seemed busy, with many guests to attend to, but we found that as long as we were polite and reasonable with our requests then they were very responsive and provided very good service.
