I liked that it was not located in a typical tourist area. The neighborhood was more working class, lots of immigrants, a real slice of Berlin life. Good access to a major transport hub at nearby Gesundbrunnen Station. Adjacent shopping center was nice and covered all needs. Classy German dining at nearby Lichtburg restaurant. Desk staff were helpful and spoke very good English. Quiet neighborhood--could leave the window open at night.

Great price, location, staff. Would highly recom

The staff were really friendly and accommodated my requests without hesitation Great lication. 8min metro ride to Alexander platz. Massive shopping centre a few mins walk away. Downside was theres a caravan park nextdoor and it was very noisy, as i had to keep the windows open coz no AC, with 22* at night.

Simple and good

Clean, good and simple hotel. The rate is fine for a hotel of this standard. The location is good even if not in the very center of Berlin, but public transportation takes you there quickly. Friendly staff.

Great for families

Wonderful family hotel. Breakfast was super with the kids - they had fruit, salad, eggs, pancakes, cereals, yogurts and more. The dining room had a play area too. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom was quite small and only 1 bar of soap (no other amenities). Location is close to a train station but outside the city center.

Manque de shampoing, si non la chambre est grande et propre. Une marche d'une heure et vous êtes en plein milieu des monuments importants de Berlin, sinon une demie heure en métro. Pour le parking faudrait réservé bien d'avance(20€ la journée) , si non je recommande de parquer de 8-22 au centre du magasinage juste à coté, 15€ la journée.Par la suite parquer devant l'hôtel gratuit jusqu'a 9h le lendemain.

Misleading Parking Info and Noisy Stay

We stayed at Family Hotel Citylight Berlin from July 25 to July 26. Although the hotel advertised that parking was available, they failed to provide us with a space. This was very disappointing and misleading. The room itself was okay, but there was constant traffic noise throughout the night, making it hard to sleep. Not a great experience overall.

Am ersten Morgen stand einfach Personal in mein Zimmer, während ich duschen war, um mir zu sagen, dass ich mein Zimmer wechseln muss. Zur Straße hin istves sehr laut. Die Einrichtung ist okay, nicht sonderlich modern. Keine Verdunklungsvorhänge und keine Klimaanlage. Anbindung mit dem Bahnhof ist sehr gut.

We stayed here as a family of five for four nights, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had, especially for the price. The hotel advertises family rooms for 5–6 people with bunk beds, but beyond that, it offers the bare minimum. There was no air conditioner, no microwave, no iron, no laundry facility, no coffee machine, no kettle — nothing that would make it feel like a proper family accommodation. For what it offered, the price was simply not justified. I paid over €200 per night, with Saturday and Sunday nights costing €333 each — more than €1,200 in total for four nights. For that kind of money, I would expect at least basic amenities. Instead, the room came with just a tiny refrigerator that could barely hold a couple of water bottles. The bunk beds were noisy with every movement, making it hard to sleep, and there was only one pillow per bed. It genuinely felt like a place that should cost €30–40 a night, not over €300. To make things worse, there’s a park right next to the hotel where homeless people and drunk individuals gather, which did not feel safe or comfortable, especially with children. Some reviews say, “You get what you pay for,” but this was not a budget stay — it was expensive, and the value just wasn’t there. I seriously considered leaving after the first night. I regret booking here and would not recommend it to families looking for a comfortable or affordable place to stay.

Tolles Hotel; sauberes, gepflegtes Zimmer (sogar mit Minibar!) zu einem anständigen Preis (72€) und nur ca. 10 Minuten vom zum Hauptbahnhof. (Bahnstation Gesundbrunnen fußläufig erreichbar, auch div. Geschäfte dort.) Besonders ist der nette Nachtportier am Tresen (30.6.25, AC/DC in town) hervorzuheben, der mit noch auf Nachfrage bez. der Ausstattung der Zimmers zuvorkommend und lösungsorientiert einen Wunsch erfüllen konnte. :) Guter Service!

Mycket trevligt bemötande och ett riktigt bra hotell i sin prisklass! Bra frukost och bra rum! Hotellet har ingen AC, men trots att det var en dag med 35+ grader på dagen så var det bekvämt att sova.
