Wow!! Is what I have to say about the Knights Inn in Mt.Gilead Ohio. The place is a joke. To start you use this app to reserve a room the staff don’t like it. My booking said check In at 300 pm but room wasn’t ready was told to go to Mc.Donald’s until it was ready. The heat is a 1960 register that don’t work. The hot water in shower is cold. Temp outside was -2 and heat was unheard of. Had room booked for two nights and got a call at 930 in the am telling me I owed more money so had to go to office to dispute that. You pay 100 for them to hold in case you destroy the place but nothing in the room is even worth 100 dollars. I travel for work a lot all the way from Florida to Chicago,Iowa
and never have I seen a place so rude and unprofessional. Best bet spend the money to go to hotel behind Wendy’s.Take my word for it. Only good thing about this place is when I was pulling out there driveway.

they charged another night plus a 50 dollar deposit, (135 in all ) above and beyond the regular charge. they gave it back but not until several anxious days later. the room was clean but there were plastic covers on the pillows, which made us think about bedbugs, although there weren't any. the heater kept going on and off all night but the room didn't get warm. it was a big motel with only one other car in the parking lot on a Friday night, which didn't exactly give us a lot of confidence. I would have thought they could have given us a better room since the place was so empty. on the other hand the price was lower than other places that we considered in the area, so i gave it a 3

DONT STAY HERE
DONT DO IT, stopped at noon to see if we could check in or at least pay for our room and was told not til 3. We explained we would be at the music festival til late.
Got the there about 1030 to find out he canceled our room and tried to charge us double the rate we already had booked it for.
As we were getting ready to pay a guy came in with pictures of bed bugs in their room. So we had to drive an hour and a half back home.

The parking lot was empty and the lights flickering so that should have been my first clue. I booked this hotel for the entire weekend as I was attending a festival with my family nearby. The room looked outdated but clean upon entry, there was no air conditioning on so the room was stuffy with an odd smell. No big deal I thought, I will just turn on the window unit and put my drinks in the fridge. The fridge was hot inside and covered in mold. Then I hung my clothes up, sat on the bed and the pillows crinkled because they were plastic like the hospital. I shrugged it off and turned on the tv. No cable options were working. I had the choice of dirt bike riding or Cops. Oh well I thought, we are here for 2 nights we can make it work. Then I noticed across the room on the other bed what looked like a brown dot on the white pillow. I was like no, that cannot be right. I assumed it was a spider. Then another appeared and they were the size of a pencil eraser. I started to panic and got up, crossed the room to look, and sure enough they were BEDBUGS. Crawling without a care in the world across the pillows. I immediately packed up and left. Went to the lobby and told the owner who proceeded to tell me that they did not have bedbugs because they “remodeled”. Told him I had pictures, showed him and this man told me that those bugs were “not on the pillows”. Blatantly denied what was looking at him. I offered to walk him right down to the room and show him, he declined and we left.

Upon checking i, I was told that a $100 deposit was required to protect against possible damages. This was not mentioned prior to booking. It was unexpected. The parking lot was in poor repair, but there was ample parking. The room was clean with fresh towels, bed linens and in overall great condition. The room included a mini-fridge and microwave which were a nice surprise. The property was well lit, and quiet. I would not recommend it as a destination, but it was a pleasant comfortable overnight stay.
