Fantastic

Lovely room, staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious! Will definitely stay here again!

10/10 Exceptional

Clean, comfy, cosy. Fantastic.

This place is a little bit tucked away but definitely worth it. The room was great, the bed was really comfy, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only slight complaint would be that the temperature of the shower was a bit unpredictable but not too badly. A friend came to meet me for dinner and commented on how good the food was and how nice the place was. If you've got a car, it's really convenient for Bakewell, Chatsworth and a bunch of hikes in the Peaks.

8/10 Very good

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Just the right level of interaction - warm, open but not intrusive. Property was clean and tidy. A few touch ups needed but a good place to stay and explore the surrounding dales.

Great stay!

From the outside the pub doesn’t look great but inside it’s lovely. Rooms were clean and well furnished, and breakfast was tasty, although we found the menu a little confusing, as continental is included but you cannot for other items. Staff were really friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere. I’d stay here again if I was in the area.

Single night stay.

Overnight stay. Lovely room - double bed plus two singles. Spacious. Really friendly and helpful staff. Great evening meals and good breakfast.
Alexandra, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

A reasonable stay for the price. The rooms are nicely sized with comfy beds and although it is on a busy road, it was quiet overnight. The staff are friendly and the location is great for exploring the Peak District. The hamlet of Stoney Middleton is tiny but steeped in history and very interesting to have a wander about. The pizzas we had in the pub one night were lovely & the breakfast was nothing special but fine. Unfortunately however, the property does need a good refresh as a lot of the paintwork is scruffy (particularly the outside of the main pub) and some of the carpets are a bit grubby. Also, in our en-suite bathroom, there was insufficient ventilation which meant it was always quite damp & smelly. It is inexpensive for the area which is very much a tourist hotspot in the summer with walkers but with a little bit more attention to detail it could be lovely.

6/10 Good

Room and Shower Room was clean and functional if smaller and less picturesque than photos on Expedia had led us to believe. Restaurant closed on Mondays. Hotel is on A6 within easy reach (15 mins) from Bakewell and Chatsworth Estate.

2/10 Poor

Awful hotel

No heating .. no hot water and the bathroom had the most horrific smell.. it was an awful experience. There are no managers just two young girls running the place. I would no recommend.

We loved our stay at the Moon Inn. We had a really friendly welcome and our room was enormous. We had a lovely meal there in the evening and slept well in the super comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were delightful. We will definitely be returning when next in the area.

I probably chose the most unhealthy of the available breakfasts, however, it was my choice and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Peak District is one of my favorite places to be.

The hotel room is spacious. Not accessible and the old hotel building doesn't have a lift, but staff can help with luggage. Good water pressure in the toilets.
Ansel, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Our room was very comfortable and nicely furnished, big walk in shower. Friendly staff but could have dressed a bit smarter. On the downside, our room was at front of property and the road is really noisy. As it was so hot, we had to have windows open. Good cooked breakfast to order, average bar snack in the eve.
Jennifer, 2-night trip

Travelled with two dogs, room was great. The team were friendly and welcoming.
Dan, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Fabulous staff, very friendly, polite and helpful. Would like 2 chairs in the room and a hook for the hand towel would save you throwing it over the shower screen.
Julie, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Excellent acomodation really friendly picked us from venue we were at for a wedding late at night .
Richard, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

The room was strange shaped and had a small skylight window it felt rather claustrophobic, but thankfully it had a fan. The small shower room was not very clean. Curiously they called this a “suite”. It smelt of dogs which presumable dog owners don’t notice.( I must remember in future to avoid “dog friendly” hotels.). There was very little choice for dinner although menus online and in the room offered much more choices and specials. I recommend that they use a jug for the gravy rather than poor it all over the steak pie and chips.after getting over the poor presentation the pie was quite nice, my wife’s scampi however was over cooked. Having been the only option on the menu that she felt she could order. The bar was quite large and pleasant and apparently has many gins available unfortunately there was only 1 scotch whisky on offer. I understand that there is an Indian restaurant and a fish and chip shop in the village I wish we had tried these.
