Convenient location to Golden and Red Rocks

Great and convenient location when staying in Golden, and an easy ten minute drive to Red Rocks. The property needs some work, remodeling and updating. It hasn't aged well and hopefully the new ownership takes this task on.

My room was nice. It was equipped with all of the essentials and was clean and updated. The check-in area was cramped and the employees were behind windows and locked doors which made me feel like there was a safety issue in the hotel. The hallways smelled moderately of old cigarette smoke and the walls and doors in the hallways could use a fresh coat of paint. That said, my room was lovely and quiet. I would stay here again.

Could be worse but also could have been better

Hallways smelled like smoke, multiple rooms taped off due to drug activity but no clear indication anything is being done to remedy the situation. Room was okay (still many indications it was not thoroughly cleaned) and the fridge was dirty. Decent location from Red Rocks but will not be coming back as there are many other locations nearby. Also, a $500 deposit is a bit much
