We love Bass Cottage!

My husband and I stayed in the Mint room in Bass Cottage. It was amazing! Beautifully furnished, roomy and very comfortable. We loved sitting in the arm chairs in our room of an afternoon, drinking coffee and eating the delicious complimentary fresh baked goods from the kitchen. Breakfast was outstanding. A savoury and sweet option are offered each morning - we had both and shared. Portions are very generous and the food was absolutely delicious. Love the location too. Tucked in behind the main street in a super quiet location but so close to all the shops, eateries and tours. Staff are super friendly and helpful. On site parking is an added bonus. We travelled all the way from Australia and hope to stay here again one day

Charming Maine.

Charming place with a lot of character and great staff. Stayed in the tippy top room and had a comfy bed and lots of space with jetted tub. Amazing blueberry muffin with breakfast.

Island Girl.

We stayed in the Pine Cone room on the 3rd floor. It should never be rented out. It was totally dysfunctional for any one over 4’ tall. The slanted ceiling made it dangerous and difficult to get out of bed. The bathroom was very small with a tiny shelf to hold drinking cups. There were no chairs to sit in, so we sat in the hallway outside our room to read and drink coffee. The room was not large enough to hold a chair, and barely had room for our suitcases. The host was very pleasant and served a good breakfast each morning. The accommodation were clean, but I would never stay there again. The room was extremely overpriced for what we received.

This lovely inn is in a fabulous location. Hidden off the Main Street, yet an easy stroll to all the shops and restaurants. Our room was large and extremely comfortable. (The Thyme room in the cottage). Every morning we had a fabulous breakfast served in a beautiful room full of sunshine from all the windows. Our server, Phoebe, was a delight and very attentive. I would recommend this property if you are going to Bar Harbor.

A Perfect Stay in Bar Harbor!

We had an incredible 4-night stay at this very charming Victorian bed and breakfast in Bar Harbor. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the ocean, downtown shopping, restaurants, bars and near Acadia National Park. It is perfect for leisurely walks and taking in the stunning coastal views. The hospitality was nothing short of exceptional, with Walker, the Inn Keeper, ensuring every guest felt at home and well cared for each day. Breakfast each morning was an absolute delight—wonderfully prepared, fresh, and incredibly delicious. Every afternoon, homemade cookies and decadent desserts were waiting for us, adding a warm and thoughtful touch to the experience. The house itself is beautifully decorated, filled with historic charm and character, providing a serene and cozy atmosphere that made our stay all the more memorable. If you’re looking for a place that combines impeccable service, mouthwatering food, and a gorgeous setting, this bed and breakfast is an absolute must!

Beautiful historic Bed and Breakfast . We had the “Mint room” on the first floor . Huge room with large bathroom area . Delicious Homemade snack available at 3pm . Excellent location to walk into Bar Harbor . Very quiet location . Breakfast was good although pretty basic . We would stay again .
