My stay at the DoubleTree in Salem was generally enjoyable. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The complimentary warm cookie at arrival was a delightful touch. I also appreciated the free breakfast, which was a convenient and tasty start to the day.
There were a few drawbacks. The Wi-Fi was down the first night, though it was thankfully restored by the second. Parking was a bit of a hassle due to nearby construction. Additionally, the scent of the in-room toiletries—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion—was quite strong and leaned heavily masculine. A more neutral or natural fragrance might be more universally appealing.
Overall, despite a few minor issues, the friendly service and amenities made for a comfortable stay.
