Avoid this hotel !!!!
Very upset with both Hotels.com and this resort that charged my credit card I was promised a refund and it has not been granted As we arrived our room front door looked like it was kicked in, not hotel security onsite as promised, lockbox battery was off, a double door to another room was unlocked, no Wi-Fi available, and unfriendly staff

Horrible experience
We checked in and went to the room. The room had a sewer smell that was very horrible. went to the front desk to bring it to their attention. the manager escorted me back to the room to smell for himself.keep in mind that he walked with an air freshner spray. I was told that the bathroom ceiling was just painted and that cold be the reason. I told him that whatever it is I dont care, i need another room. I was told well you sat on the Bed and you wash the glass and drank from the glass in the room and am going to have to get house keeping to come back and clean your mess. Can you imagine the nerve of this guy.... The hotel is horrible, old and rundown. Please dont go there.

Superb view of ocean from balcony. Cleaning was daily at your convenience. House keeping was able to facilitate requests. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Waves restaurant was a hit. Gorgeous view of beach.

Not as glamourous as I was expecting
The hotel is currently undergoing some major renovation, so there is a lot of construction going on. Not sure if this was the cause of so little staff working, but there was rarely anyone at the front desk, and the spa was closed. There was also no internet connection at all, and the tv reception in the room was terrible. It must have been a very nice place in its heyday, but it is pretty run down at this point. The views are still gorgeous however.

I enjoyed my stay , even though I asked for a room lower by the water and didn’t get that my stay overall was great , the beds were comfortable the staff was friendly we spent most of our days out on the road but it was lovely. I hope they can update the bathrooms .

The hotel experience was good. However there is room for improvement when it comes to WiFi connectivity. We had to buy a data plan and use it throughout the stay. The TV does not pick up any WiFi so no Netflix or any streaming services. In a world where social media is such a major part of life, it’s very disappointing to not have it easily available. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast options were good each morning. The hotel has so much more potential. They need to open a new restaurant/ bar where the breakfast area is. This can transform at night and bring people to the hotel. Updated decor, modern fixtures and lighting, more TVs. The back of the hotel by the gym area should be transformed into outdoor dining, with a trellis, a chef cooking and grilling seafood live. The coi ponds are not being maintained and should be removed. It’s more of an eyesore than an attraction. This is my fourth time at the hotel and I feel like I expect more now.
