Inexpensive stay, not the most comfortable

Check in was easy and quick, there was lots of parking available, and the stay was fairly inexpensive. The hotel itself is quite dated and there was a bit of a musty smell. The smoke alarms are very sensitive and there are signs in the bathrooms to keep the doors closed so that steam doesn’t set off the alarms. Unfortunately a fire alarm went off at 3AM.

Overnight stay but bit basic

Friendly staff at reception. Free parking behind hotel, convenient location. Very clean hotel, room bit dated. Had room at side which was noisy from nightclubbers at 4am. Breakfast menu looks good but is a bit basic, rationed fresh fruit, luke warm coffee and kitchen struggling to get the right orders out.

Well priced proper old hotel

Nice hotel. Quite grand in an understated way. Very good breakfast - Arbroath smokies be poached eggs, which I thought was pretty classy. Apparently winston churchill stayed here loads. Would be good if the hotel had a little info in the plaque explaining why he spent so much time in Dundee. The fella seemed to get about, but the interesting to know what he was up to regardless

Booked kingsize bed but it ended up being 2 singles pushed together leaving a gap in middle Basic items missing (no iron and tv remote) Hotel could do with a paintjob was a bit dated Staff were pleasant and very helpful regarding missing items

One of the worst

The place really needs updated. My room in particular was outdated, the mattress was non existent and extremely uncomfortable, there was a gap at the bottom of the door so you could hear absolutely everything. It also caused light to shine through so had to use my pillows to try block the light and dull the sound.

Generally fine, although I tried to ask many times and our booking was for 4, there was not an extra bed on arrival. However this was quickly resolved as they added a bed. We were the only people at breakfast the next morning and the lady was very nice. 8 particularly liked Vegetarian breakfast with veggie haggis!
