Yes, I know it's California and in town and close to the convention center. And yes, I know it's an old building. Still, for what you get, it's still underwhelming. Room isn't particularly big. No place to put luggage. Shower curtain. Sorta what you get with a much lower priced hotel. The room is as pretty as it looks in the pictures, but not nearly as spacious.
People at the front desk were really kind. However, they reported at my checkout that they were instructed that they couldn't hold my luggage for the bulk of the day until my midnight flight, meaning I'd have to schlep my stuff around town for the better part of the day.
They said they didn't have space. Perhaps that's true. However, I'm 61, and I just paid over $800 for a 3-night stay. I mean, seriously?
There is a "room service" thing, where companies kinda Uber in some food. But it didn't work. That's not the hotel's fault, but it's really expensive and the choices nearby at 11:00 pm are surprisingly slim for a city that size. And that's too bad. Long Beach rocks!
