Great Area but avoid
Great location in a great town, however the worst place I have stayed in Cheltenham - and will not be back. The rooms are located above an Indian restaurant, so the aromas cover all of your belongings. The room i had didn't have any heating, there was no plug in the sink to have a wash or shave at. The mirror above the sink was loosing the backing around the edges so looked horribly aged. The bath had a mixer tap for a shower but no screen or curtain and nowhere to hang the shower up. For the price that was charged of £85 per night without breakfast I know of several other places much much better than this. AVOID!

Service superb, staff couldn't do enough to help. Food excellent, would thoroughly recommend. Rooms basic but clean enough, though if honest could do with a bit more attention to detail. Centrally placed, ideal for Montpellier and would stay again if in the area.

Tried hard but needs some TLC
Super attentive staff - they were amazing. Room was large and some nice touches to make it feel welcoming but it was just very tired and needed a lot of updating. Bathroom was large and clean but dated and only a shower hose attached to the bath taps - you could not have a shower. Bed was comfy Overall adequate for somewhere to lay your head after a night out (my reason for staying) but wouldn't want to have to spend much time in the room.

A disgrace of a hotel
Due to several factors that happened with my stay this hotel has been reported to the local council for breach of trading standards, environmental and health and safety issues. Starting with my arrival although hotel as a guest house it is in fact a few rooms above a very noisey restaurant and access to the rooms is by walking through the restaurant. Despite advertised as having a front desk open from 11am to 11pm when I arrived at 4.30pm the whole building was closed and I was made to wait over a half an hour to be let in. The room was not as advertised and missing all amenities advertised. The room were dirty and shower ,sink and bathroom light were all broken. Due to the rooms being above a restaurant when the restaurant was closed all doors were locked including fire escape, I only found this out when I tried to leave the next morning as the only member of staff around informed me that he was not responsible for guests and walked off, after waiting for 10 minuets and no staff around I had to escape establishment by climbing out of a window. AVOID THIS ESTABLISMENT AT ALL COSTS

Clean.
I was disappointed initially that there was no one to meet me and let me into the hotel. The owners were very apologetic and were, if anything, over attentive after. I found the rooms a little dated for the cost but it's not a cheap area for hotels. The food was fab. If you like Indian food.

Simple but spacious room. Very pleasant staff. However, rooms feel an afterthought to the main business - a very nice Indian restaurant. The accommodation is really The Spice Lodge, not Eagle Lodge
