10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tamarind Village for so many reasons: a beautiful lush setting, wonderful friendly staff, and delicious authentic meals. Our room was clean, quiet, and close to the hotel’s amenities, their restaurant, pool, spa, and shop. It was also located perfectly inside the OLD City making walking easily accessible to much the city has to offer. Having stayed in Bangkok for the first part of our vacation, we didn’t feel we really experienced the richness of Thailand’s culture. However, Tamarind Village provided us with many niceties, such as providing tea upon arrival, robe and slippers, a city walk, and cultural pool side offerings. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and appreciate those who traveled there before us for their glowing recommendations."

Tapae Place Hotel Chiangmai

8/10 Good
"The two things that make this place are the staff, breakfast, and location. The staff were wonderful - very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast (90 baht per morning) was excellent and well worth the price. Buffet style and fresh ingredients. The room was pretty much what you would expect for the price. It would have been 5 stars if not for the bed. It was like sleeping on concrete, but I can look past that for everything else the hotel had. The location is perfect - minutes away from Tha Phae Gate and Old City (make sure to visit the old city market on Sundays!), Night Bazaar, Loi Kroh, and plenty else. There are plenty of songtaews and tuk tuks around, places to eat (really nice restaurant right next to the hotel), and was the perfect spot for my two week stint in Ching Mai. Make sure to avoid the elephant rescues in the immediate area and walk the 10 minutes to the Elephant Nature Park in Old City. All in all, you’ll enjoy your stay."

  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the location of the hotel, its star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could assist you in finding better rates for your stay in a Chiang Mai hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer improved value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be relatively high, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a more favourable rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels nearer to the city centre usually cost more, but with Chiang Mai’s excellent public transport network, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that’s still well connected.
